Captain America: Civil War - pre-release discussion, news, rumors, etc

Re: Captain America: Civil War - pre-release discussion, news, rumors,

Some fans have been waiting a long time for that, haven't they?

Re: Captain America: Civil War - pre-release discussion, news, rumors,

James Gunn has seen Civil War

The writer-director revealed his early reactions during a recent live video Q&A on Facebook. “I saw Civil War and I think it’s incredible,” he said. “It’s one of the best Marvel movies ever, and I can’t believe what a wonderful job [directors Joe and Anthony Russo] did. And the cast. Oh my God, they’re so good. So it’s an amazing film and people are going to be really excited to see that come summertime."

I'm currently re-reading the mini-series. I bought it a few months ago and read it, but I did not really like it. There are a lot of moments that I thought were incredibly idiotic. There is every chance the movie will not make these mistakes, but I still worry. Pitting hero versus hero is a tricky proposition, especially when it's not likely they'll team-up in the end.

Obviously, he couldn’t delve into spoiler territory, but he praised the work of Tom Holland, the newly minted Spider-Man making his MCU debut in Civil War. “I’m trying to think about what is cool to say or not. But I will say this one thing. Tom Holland is…off-the-charts awesome. Off. The. Charts. Awesome. Off the charts. Truly. Hand to my heart, he’s amazing.”

I never took to Andrew Garfield. I begrudgingly admit his Spider-Man is slightly better than Tobey McGuire's, mainly due to his banter, but I thought Tobey played a much better Peter. No matter how big or small his role is in the movie, all eyes will be on Spider-Man and I'd love to be this wowed by a Spider-Man, especially after the last two movies he was in.

No mere chart can contain the awesomeness of Tom Holland's Spider-Man.

He was on the charts but is now off them.

^ So they're taking a beat from the old comics and animated show. Good for them!

Thanks for posting the cover. The title enjoyed a number of solid years up to that time.

Re: Captain America: Civil War - pre-release discussion, news, rumors,

I was in Forbidden Planet today and noticed a few issues of a "Captain America: Civil War Prelude" comic. I wasn't expecting it to give away or divulge an awful lot but hadn't heard about it and picked them up and had a look...

 Issues 1 & 2 are just an adaption of Iron Man 3, and Issues 3 & 4 adaptions of the The Winter Soldier. I would guess Isues 5 & 6 will just be Age of Ultron too. Haha what a little con

Re: Captain America: Civil War - pre-release discussion, news, rumors,

I guess we can be glad Issue 1 wasn't an adaptation of Iron Man 1. ;)

Got the Silver Centurion LEGO minifig with LEGO Avengers pre-order - the Tony headpiece must be from an upcoming Civil War set - it has a bruised eye.

I look at those Kellogg's cereal boxes, and I starting thinking back to things like Hallmark's Death Star tree ornament, or that Red Shirt cologne.

Some things simply make no merchandising sense.

I think this may be one of the best Trilogies out there, almost every trilogy flops on the third film or it is poorly received by fans. Cvil War might be the perfect film for the Captain America franchise. The Matrix a poor third, Robocop 3, Blade 3, Xmen 3, Terminator 3....
...the Captain will change all this
