I just thought of another Captain who has popped up a few times, who I wouldn't mind seeing get some more development, Sinclair-Alexander.

^Admiral Sinclair-Alexander does figure fairly prominently in the Crucible series. I thought it was cool that it was Kirk who originally recognized her leadership potential.
^I won’t spoil them, but I highly recommend Provenance of Shadows. It’s fabulous.
That was during contract-renewal negotiations which appear to have gone wrong, hence a complete lack of any new Pocket Trek novel releases beyond the third Discovery prequel.

^"Gone wrong" is an overstatement. "Been delayed" is all we actually know for sure.
They don’t have to clone him. DSC could simply have an appearance by Robau Prime (and Faran Tahir has said he’d love to play Robau again).
^I’ve no problem with that as long as he fits into the story. What I don’t want to see is him being shoe-horned into DSC merely to induce orgasms among the fan base (as was done with Darth Maul in The Clone Wars).
Huh? Darth Maul had a far more interesting story arc (as in, actually having a story arc) in TCW and Rebels than he ever had in the movie. It wasn't just an empty gesture to appease the fans; there was actually a story to tell.
Boday?
^Was he Starfleet or civilian? I suppose it doesn't matter, as any captain from the Trek universe could have a story written about him/her, but I'm wondering if it was ever made clear.
The only evidence we got about Captain Boday's allegiances was in "Penumbra," when O'Brien asked what brought Boday to the station and Ezri said the Gallamites were providing duranium for the war effort. That suggests Boday worked for the Gallamites rather than Starfleet, perhaps as a civilian freighter captain.
Besides, I think Starfleet would frown on one of its captains dating a lieutenant like Dax.
I'd love to see a Captain's Table novel for Robert April, a story of him and his crew during the early years of the Enterprise before Kirk and Pike.
