Capaldi says Clara's departure is clever and very sad

She just makes me smile whenever I see her. It never fails. She's so darn cute/hot. Women like that, with that combination, are like kryptonite. I'm going to miss her. :(

All this picture reminds me of is missing the location shoot where she was wearing this by one measly day when I was visiting England. Blerg.

So if Clara is becoming more like the Doctor, does that mean he's going to eventually become short a order cook? He'll someday regenerate into Mel Sharples to Clara's Alice?

Mark

Amy and Rory ALMOST had that kind of ending before Moffat brought them back for first half of Season 7. I've come to appreciate "The God Complex" ending a lot more as the years go by. Amy and Rory were by far my favorite companions, so I definitely wanted them back for more, but looking back at the actual story, "The God Complex" would have been a nice, quiet send off for them.

Amy: "Why now?"
Doctor: "Because you're still breathing."

+1

Dingy!

Saying that the most beautiful woman in the world is "your type" is like saying that air is the type of gas that you most prefer to breathe.

There's a reason why "Face The Raven" will be the only episode this series where the Doctor is dressed like he was last series.

Isn't Face the Raven the episode where Capaldi debuts his new Pertwee knock-off outfit? By that I mean, Capaldi will actually be wearing a frilly shirt with a velvet smoking jacket.

Jenna's leaving, but is Clara? I mean, if she's becoming the Doctor, won't she regenerate at some point?

How exactly has Clara "sorta become the Doctor"? This is just a ridiculous assertion as she thinks she'll be hanging around the Doctor for always....like Rose did. She's not shown herself any smarter than say, Zoe, who was a genius before she met the Doctor. She's not shown herself any braver than any of the previous companions on nuWho or old Who, for that matter. So where's this line of thinking coming from?

^ It's just Moffat being Moffat. Only in Flatline, where she "played the Doctor," and recently where she sees herself as his partner in time travel and wants to learn the rules and gone "all in" with this being her life...that's all he means. He's exaggerating for effect because he wants to consequences in "Face the Raven" to have more punch.

I would argue that in series 9, she's shown to actively be a partner/apprentice, whereas before she was just "traveling companion." She hasn't ever become the Doctor...but like DoctorDonna, this is the life she wants now, damn the consequences.

There's also last season's finale where Clara tries to fool the Cybermen by claiming to be the Doctor.

It's not that she's becoming the Doctor, but she is definitely picking up some of his character traits.

I notice last episode she was piloting the tardis - anyone out of River done that in the modern series.

It's Moffat himself who first said Clara has sorta become the Doctor. That's why they did the alternate opening credits for Death in Heaven with Jenna Coleman's name first and a shot of her eyebrows instead of Capaldi's.
