no one will hate his movie if they know more about it.

Huh? Some people were hating his first one from the moment it was announced. Secrecy was an essential ingredient in building anticipation.

I will be far more likely to wait until the Blu-ray release if I "know more about it". As soon as serious spoilers start appearing in here, I'm going to stop coming to this forum until I've seen the movie. Teasers that give a hint of the tone of the film are fine but full-blown, line by line exposures of the script, along with lengthy, detailed descriptions of what has been filmed, will only make me seriously downgrade my enthusiasm for the upcoming film. I'd rather be surprised, pleasantly or not, than have it spoiled weeks or months in advance.

Good for Abrams for actually making an effort to enforce the kinds of NDA regulations that are so often flouted on other productions.

I disagree, no real suprise there but there you have it. I for one will go see the film no matter how much of it is spoiled. I saw the first reboot film three times and was never once tired of it.

If I like a film, I will watch it again (sometimes many times over). But I cannot fathom wanting to know major elements of the story before seeing it the very first time (adaptations of novels/plays are different--in that case, I'm always curious as to how the adaptation will manage to remain broadly faithful to the source while also showing some originality. Slavish replication of the source material is, frankly, boring.).

As I posted on another thread, I do not even want to know the main plot. Just a few detials like who the villians are and a few pics of the main cast from behind the scenes, That will make me happy.

If I like a film, I will watch it again (sometimes many times over). Yup, Adaptations, sure no problem, since you already know the story.

Actors, Villian, little teaser nuggets that don't tell you anything, but, make you ask questions and theorize, a few pics to see some kind of tone, but, that's about it. I don't want to know the Plot or know who dies (Knowing someone dies is sometimes OK, but, not who, and unless there's a lot of possible candidates, don't even really want to know someone dies)

You can only see a movie or show for the first time once, and for me, knowing too much ahead of time, really detracts from that first time experience.

Of course, it's wonderful to sit down and watch something again, that you love, that you've seen 100 times before, but your first time should be special

I like to know as little as possible before watching a movie. I even try to avoid trailers.

I remember actually reading draft scripts of Star Trek VI on Gopher sites a year before the movie even came out. Spoilers are one of my favorite parts of the Trek tradition.

Reading the book adaptation or comic book or online message boards that offer spoilery information, I am never spoiled when it is time to see the actual film.
This is because knowing some details and having seen somepics or reading the novelisation is NOT the same as watching the movie that first time.

I saw every shed of spoilery info on the first film and that did not affect my surprise or enjoyment of first screening. Information in the trailers revealed more than all the previous tidbits combined and even after that fact the film still had plenty of meat left on it's bones.

I cannot say if I would have enjoyed it even more without seeing the tidbits and trailers but I feel those events were part of the overall experience that I would not want to have taken away from me. Trek IX isn't just a couple hour and change film to me, it is a years long Trek I wouldn't trade for anything. The Adventure Begins Anew!
