CANCELLED

Just a point of information.....Is no one allowed to express happines or positive feelings about the fact that the show was cancelled. I mean its clear that the show was not popular. Is only one perspective permitted on this issue?

Such discussion should probably be taken to MA, but I'll take a crack at this.

I would guess that saying "Thank (list of deities)." is considered trolling because it's not adding anything to discussion, nor is it really expressing an opinon. It's something said that will likely spark debate and anger.

Now coming in and sayin, "Well, I'm not too upset. I din't like Enterprise because it was boring and uninteresting." wouldn't be trolling because it's expressing an opinion thoughtfuly in the spirit of discussion.

World of difference between the two.

Put it this way. I hate Stargate and Atlantis, but if they were cancelled, I wouldn't go into a thread about them and say "WOOHOO! It's gone!" and dance on the misery of the fans. I'm surprised they didn't crack down harder and sooner.

*raises a glass of wine to Enterprise* You died young, but you had a full life. :(

My sympathies to all the Enterprise fans. May your broken hearts be mended, and may you keep good memories of this and all the other shows that made you smile, and were gone before their time. Lord knows there are plenty.

If someone walked into your funeral and started telling everyone who you know (and know you as a real great guy/girl) he's glad you're dead, do you think that's okay. You can have your opinions but out of respect (in this thread for now, at least), it would be "humane" to keep them to yourself.

And as for my warning....

Screw you Stewey and your cancel Enterprise crew.

It wasn't my favorite Trek show, but I still enjoyed it warts and all. And I'll be sad to see it go.

But on a bright note, we can all go watch Ron Moore's Bimbostar Galactica with its gritty realism. Where else can you see someone get their head bashed in with a flashlight.

Well, I didn't mean you literaly write just fuck you, I was thinking more along the lines - very sad, very upset, will not watch UPN and will boycott merchendise unless Enterprise is brought back, yadda yadda yadda, and then to round it off a big FUCK YOU to UPN and Les Moonves for killing the only sci-fi show worth watching on major networks...

Cool, my first warning, although I don't see how it's trolling. Is this thread for gushers, and bashers not allowed? If so state that in the thread title, and start one for the bashers. At any rate, my opinion is as valid as anyone elses, and my opinion is that i'm glad its cancelled.

I am upset with this, because for some reason, I think there is something sneaky about this. I know for one thing, UPN has lost a viewer after this season!! I also feel, anything created and made by some particular individuals, I will never watch and support!!!

:(

My post seems to have vanished...

I was extremely shocked to hear the news, still in shock. I was fighting tears, and I'm at work.

Nice move UPN/Paramount, ya wankers .

I've watched ENT religiously ever since Day 1, I'm grieving now.

Bring on the DVDS/Merchandise (they better!!!) and did the show get syndicated or not!??

No, people are allowed to express the opinion that they think the show was due for cancellation. HOWEVER, it's got to be tastefully done. Posts that just say "Yay!" or "Woohoo!" or the like (like I warned for and like JKTim just warned for are just trolling plain and simple.

Take a look at OmahaStar's first post in this thread (not the subsequent ones he was warned for). He expressed his opinion in a thoughtful way in that first post.

Just posting "Yay, it's dead!" doesn't contribute at all and just serves to incite those who are upset about the cancellation.

And more to the point, coming in and gloating about the cancellation of a TV show in the announcement thread is just..well.. tacky, not to mention a little sad. Its a TV show, people, it's cancellation is nothing to get overly enthusiastic about nor is it something to get upset over.

This is just sad, sad, sad.

Just some thoughts...

I never followed it on TV, since I live in Germany and am waiting quite impatiently for the DVDs to come out, but it seems like it really became something in the last two seasons.

Both TNG and DS9 only found their style after the first few seasons, so it is very sad that Enterprise does not get that chance.

Granted, there now is much more sci-fi competition on TV, that is bound to make things harder for a Trek series that did not seem to take many chances in its first two seasons.

Trek has constantly been on the air for 18 years now. And now it ends (for now at least) in the same month as "Star Wars".

As I said, sad, sad, sad.

See my posts above (should be on page  and in the etiquette thread and in the beginning of this thread about not gloating. Saying respectfully that you're glad it's cancelled is okay. The way you posted was not.

I was born in 1987 the year that Star Trek returned to the small screen and i raised myself on the ideals of Jean-Luc Picard, the enthusiasm of Data in my childhood and discovered the joy of the dark side of life in Deep Space Nine that life sucks but in all the darkness their is some light and that life isn't black and white, then Voyager came along and remembered that living in the 20th century is pretty cool thanks to Tom Paris and then Enterprise came as i entered my late teens i learned that the thrill for exploring the world around me is still there and now as i turn 18 just as Enterprise comes to it's end, i enter adult hood without the guidance of the Federations Finest.

"LET HISTORY NEVER FORGET, THE STARSHIP ENTERPRISE"

There are so many questions I have now and it's just hard to express them all.

What will happen to UPN? Will the show ever be revived? Will there be another Star Trek series? Will there be a movie? Is Trek dead? What happens to a site like this? What happens to startrek.com? What happens to the writers? Who are Morpheus and Quills? etc...

I recognize that Enterprise had its flaws, but I was always rooting for them to be overcome. And despite its flaws, I still enjoyed it very much and am kind of disappointed that I won't have any TV Trek to look forward to anymore.

No offense but I'd like to hear a clarification from the mods directly because they really do seem to be trying to stiffle ANY negative opinions. I'd just like to know where the boundaries are?
