It really is a shame. Trek has been on for so long now and I've watched year after year. Heck, I was still just dating my first wife-to-be when TNG started!

My thanks to the cast and crew. So long to UPN. After this there'll be no reason to watch that station.

:(

Looks like I'll be erasing channel 21 (local UPN affiliate here) from my channel selections after this season is over. Hell, 'trek' was the only reason I even watched that network. Actually, the hour that Enterprise is on is the ONLY hour of that network I watch during the week. :(

damn Berman and Braga...its their fault for puting together a shitty show...

It's true, but it's hardly new ... After the first year of Voyager, they pretty much sucked, and each season got progressively worse ... With the creation of Enterprise, it just cemented my opinion of their version of Trek - sucky sucky.

I know there's a lot of people who watched and enjoyed Enterprise, but I am not one of them. I thought the show sucked, and I think it's several years overdue. That's my opinion, and I'm free to have it.

Just be happy you'll get to relive the ... show ... on dvd later this year. There are many much more worthy shows which still haven't seen the dvd racks so far.

We had a year to prepare for this. I'm not surprised., but I'm really going to miss being able to watch a new episode week to week. Im not upset with UPN. It's Paramount I'm mad at for not firing B & B 4 years ago. I think I'm mad enough to stop watching other Paramount shows until they bring back Star Trek. That would be silly as I would only be hurting myself by not watching other Paramount shows I like.

    :( :( :(

I am so pissed off right now, you won't believe it. Screw you, UPN, screw you.

Another raised glass...*To Enterprise*

I know it's a long shot but maybe someone like Sci-fi will pick up Enterprise, hell they picked up Andromeda, a show that is way below the quality of Enterprise.

This is one big problem with this, Les moonves not only ordered it to be cancelled on UPN, but has told Paramount to shut it down as well. If he only controlled UPN then Paramount might have searched for a new home (like SG1, Andromeda etc.). But when you control both the network and the studio that makes the show, that will kill the show out right. Bottomline is, unless Les Moonves changes his mind or a new president comes along the show will remain dead as well as any movie for at least for 2 to 4 years. it's that simple

Posted by AlexR:To my fellow fans: The loss of "Enterprise" does not mean that Star Trek is dead. We have had times without new Trek on TV before,

That was a long time ago. Back in the days after TOS was cancelled, viewers actually had patience. They were willing to wait. Many aren't, anymore. :(

And I can already sense the gloating that will inevitably occur. Fans of other shows will come out here and laugh in our faces. We don't have to let that happen, do we?

Maybe we should all write letters to Sci-Fi and other channels hoping they will pick it up. (Trying to stay optimistic here.)

Now I almost feel foolish for my obnoxious Phloxian optimism!
Don't feel bad. I'm sure your opyimism helped a lot of us when we were down.
Thanks!

I sure feel down right now and my optimism has all evaporated. As I have stated, I don't have any optimism for the future of Trek (they might as well shut down that section of TBBS).

Trek fans are now too divided to accept a new show or movie or mini-series. A new incarnation wouldn't draw sufficient numbers. And the general viewing public has so many other things to watch. If they're into science fiction there's now other - and production-wise cheaper - shows for them. Many others wouldn't know quality if it came and bit them in the Rear (boy have i hated reality TV more than I do now?).

As much for the B&B bashing that goes on here I now honestly think that even if Manny Coto had been show-runner from the get go it wouldn't have helped much. The show would've been mercilessly bashed anyway since many old time Trekkers had their own notion of what went on before the era of Kirk and were bound to be disappointed.

I'm looking at the bright side. The loss of Season 5 might mean that we're one year closer to the next incarnation of TREK--be it on TV or film.
