He'd be enough like me to be compatible, enough unlike me to keep me interested. I'd do well with some one who is married to his job. Some one deeply committed and passionate about his work, whose only mistress is me. I'd be happy with this because I don't think I could compromise my reclusive nature and loner tendencies. On the other hand, perhaps if I do find the perfect man for me, I won't mind him being around. Won't know until, and if, it happens.

I'm attracted to men who are strong and masculine, but I am not attracted to machismo.

I am somehow completely unable to think about a "perfect partner" in abstract terms. No, really. It has nothing to do with being in a relationship for many years: even before that, the only think I could say about a "perfect woman", beyond the obvious (gorgeous, smart, kind, etc.) was "I hope she likes Star Trek". That's my fault, obviously: I like women. All sort of women: tall, short, slim, curvaceous, talkative, quiet, idealistic, cynical. My tastes in women are so different and eclectic that were I asked what is my "type", I would be tongue-tied.

I'd do well with some one who is married to his job. Some one deeply committed and passionate about his work, whose only mistress is me.

That's funny, I always said to my girlfriend that I was already married with a cold-hearted matron called Science, and that our relationship was actually a torrid affair we consumed in sinful passion and with a guilty conscience. Apparently, she was not amused.

I don't believe in the concept of a 'perfect' companion. No one is perfect. Everyone has good and bad points; the only way to evaluate how good a mate can be, is AFTER you meet them and begin a relationship.

The only suggestion I can put forth at this point is, it would help if she understands my addiction to baseball.
