Can we have a sensible talk about Batwoman trailer?

ETA: Or it's because you're actually part of the very specific group of people who were being talked about, who obviously don't come anywhere near being a majority of straight white men and do in fact very often act like total idiots.

...and insulting him couched in suggestion means or accomplishes what?

Acknowledging that there is one possible circumstance in which he isn't unquestionably misinterpreting the statement, but that this possibility isn't exactly better.

Also, it's only an insult if he is indeed part of that group. I leave it to him to decide whether that's the case or not.

Possible of course, but they said the same thing about The Last Jedi. It could just be that the trailer came off obnoxious, and people really don't like extreme politics in sci-fi/comic shows.
Female protagonists are extreme politics, even ones who are lesbians? That’s normal and accepted outside of comic based properties. It’s not extreme by any stretch of the imagination.

This is just the cowardly backlash from a very small group of deeply sexist men who for some bizarre reason feel threatened by women being in anything but a submissive role and as sexual objects for their pleasure. Most of them seem to be fairly young and brainwashed by an echo chamber of themselves and YouTube channels dedicated to telling them exactly what they want to hear. We can only hope that this sad pathetic internet subculture either grow out of this immaturity before they hurt people like the incels, who likely overlap a lot with them. Thankfully they are a minority and the vast majority of men aren’t like them and aren’t freaking out about a Batwoman show because a woman with short hair scares them.

The title has already been used for a Supergirl episode. The season 1 crossover with the Flash.
Oh, never mind then.
Bullshit. I am a straight white man and I was in no way insulted or dismissed by that comment. If you think you were, it's because you're deliberately looking to misinterpret what was said.

I think anybody who has interacted with the person this refers to on more than one to two occasions can probably guess which of these applies.

AP, just giving a heads-up in case you were not aware of more than a few women on YouTube who say damn near the same thing as the male views you refer to, and each are pretty Left leaning (IOW, the opposite of Clorox-ed Tomi Lahen), from what one can tell from their content.

What does that prove? Plenty of women will defend sexism in order to personally benefit themselves. In this case, make a lot of money off sexist losers. It even feeds into their delusions by having a woman tell them exactly what they want to believe.

But it turns out that a lot are just lying, in fact most of these right wing anti-SJW YouTubers are an act and gullible morons lap it up and feed their bank accounts. So good for them, I’d never sell my soul like that. But if I had no morals, I could actually make a lot doing the exact same thing.

Prove it. Name one that's actually been caught in a lie and how they were caught.

You can accuse anybody of anything, and it's tempting to accuse people who don't agree with you of all manner of crap, hence the current schism in fandom.

Blaire White has talked about it.

So, she confessed to lying about her views, or named someone who did? I'm looking for something beyond a blanket "they do this."
No, she met a bunch of them at a convention and they all admitted to it being an act. She didn’t name names, but said they were major figures. They largely seemed to view it like a scam which frustrated her.

You’re likely a fan of one or more of them and you’ve bought every second of it because you wanted to believe it so much. Like the victim of a con artist. :rommie:

Dave Rubin would be a pretty save bet. Used to be on The Young Turks, left, got his own Koch Bros.-funded YT channel, sitting there smiling while Ben Shapiro tells him how he would never attend a dinner party by Rubin and his husband because that's gay, then going on to complain about how intolerante the left is.

The burden of proof is on the accuser. All you've provided is hearsay, which means you haven't proved any con.

However, since Blair White is one of those youtubers I watch frequently, I'll go look for that video where she says absolutely nothing to back your assertion.

He’s the first person I assumed.

It always seems like whenever anybody wants to have a "sensible talk" about something, it ends up very quickly becoming the exact opposite.
It’s usually an attempt to make unreasonable and awful ideas seem reasonable.

This is why a sensible conversation can't happen. Look at the racism and sexism in the above comment. And look at instantaneous dismissal of an entire race and gender, while calling them idiots because they simply don't agree with this person's opinion.

Sigh. I wasn't dismissing all straight white men. Only straight white men who think science fiction belongs to them--which is an idiotic notion.

Says this straight white man.
