Can Orci can kill of a character for Good.

He can, but let's hope he doesn't. I'd like this crew to have a nice adventure that doesn't end with any deaths. Let's have a fun Star Trek movie for crying out loud.
Maybe with some whales.

.

I would say no to that too unless they were like Anthropomorphic whale aliens, then that would be pretty cool. I just want an original story, great moments with Kirk, Spock and Bones. No death's. Just a fun adventure with some action and suspense.

Now it's hard to die with Khans blood, anyone can be brought back from the dead.
Orci should express limits to it.

The can kill anyone but with Khan and his magic blood so conveniently frozen and stored they can resurrect them.

Only now as I write this I realize how much ST:ID really fckuked up things.

No more so than transporters or the Genesis Device or the spores from Omicron Ceti III...

Need I go on?

You forgot the aliens on the Shore Leave planet. :p

I'm sure I left out quite a few. :p

But my point is that Khan's blood isn't this universe breaking event that some folks like to make it out to be. :techman:

Or just never mention it again.

That's how we resolve issues in my family. :)

[waiting-to-hear-alice-eve-has-been-signed] If someone were indeed going to be killed off, I'd place my money on the new "family" member, Carol Marcus, and not one of the "original" seven. [/waiting-to-hear-alice-eve-has-been-signed]

I didn't think about it but, yeah... the fact that they killed Kirk but brought him back with magic blood poses the moral dilemma now if another member of the crew dies but they don't use the same 'trick' to save them too.
Why Kirk and not the others?
thinking about it, he wasn't the only one who died in stid either (talking about the ship) but they couldn't and didn't save the other members of the crew that died too, right?

Idk, but I think that in MCCoy's place the temptation to keep a bit of blood for future use or study why it works might be too great.

Augment technology has been banned and suppressed since 1996 in Trek's world. Most likely, the "super blood" will be buried and thus won't come up in ST3 (unless the plot involves Kirk goes nuts as a result of his transfusion)

Yes. "Super blood" can leave side-effects in Kirk. A behavior change or health problems. So it could render them unfit for safe re-use.
But in comic Star Trek (IDW ongoing) Kirk is in good health.

I wonder what penalty McCoy will get for ignoring this ban? If none, then I guess we can expect to see people peddling "Augment Blood Tonic" at local fairs etc, from now on. Besides aren't we forgetting the other person to receive augment blood?

We don't know if the daughter or mother know what Harewood did? They may simply think something incredible happened. No one outside the Enterprise bridge crew may know about Khan's blood.

If the reasons for Harewood's actions aren't in his note to Marcus(?) Starfleet could probably figure it out. Would they tell the mother/daughter? Could they avoid it? What would the daughter's doctors say when they looked at her funky blood work?

But my thought was more: If Krik could go nuts, so could she right?

No one outside the Enterprise bridge crew may know about Khan's blood.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to reading Kirk's, not to mention Spock's, log entry about that myself! Or to quote the Bee Gees: "This is where I came in".
