Can Orci can kill of a character for Good.

Can Orci can kill off a character for Good.

If Trek 3 were to be the last trek film with this cast, do you think Orci can kill of one of the 8 reoccurring characters for good.

It wont be Kirk or Spock as they are the alpha males, two sides of the same coin, the captian and the first officer and so on.

So it will be either be Carol, Sulu, Chekhov, Uhura, Bones or Scotty.

If Orci were to kill of a character for good who do you think it will be and why?

I know people will say Orci has already killed Pike but I think we all saw that coming. Pike was the elderly mentor so it was only a matter of time before he checked out.

this crew on the enterprise are all young, beautiful and hip so to have one of them die tragically will be shocking

I would think this would fall under script approval. There probably isn't a hard rule against it but comes down to how it works in story.

Besides, it is sci-fi. No one stays dead forever. Kirk, Tucker and Data have all been resurrected in the novels. Janeway was killed off and resurrected.

They already killed off Kirk.

WAIT FOR IT!

(He got better.)

Kill off anyone permanently? Why? Even if it is the last with this cast, I'd really hope not. Let's go out on a good note.

My money is on "Checkhov", because I've no idea who that is.

They killed Amanda and all of Vulcan and Romulus, so why not?

Sure he can as to who to kill off, I think I would have to go with Uhuru, from a story point of view from the ST(2009) and STID stories she is the one whos loss might most affect the crew esp. Spock.

He can, but let's hope he doesn't. I'd like this crew to have a nice adventure that doesn't end with any deaths. Let's have a fun Star Trek movie for crying out loud.

I hope not that will be repetitive. Spock has already been greatly affected by Kirk's death. So another of his loved one dying and him been affected will just be meh to me. I have seen it before and know what to expect. Spock will go into another rage mode.

Also, He has already been affected greatly and gone into another rage mode due to his mum's death. So no. No more of his loved ones dying just to get emotions out of him. Kirk and Amanda have done enough.

Carol Marcus would be the most logical choice for a story arc I think, especially if she and Kirk hook up in III. Killing her off would add a moment of personal tragedy to Kirk's backstory, without the shock value of it being one of the established legacy characters. Paramount would likely have final approval if one of the original characters was to be offed.

The question isn't whether he can, but whether he should. If it serves the story, kill whoever you want. But if it's for completely pointless shock value because it's the end, a la Trip Tucker, then NFW.

They can but I hope they do not. Killing one if the main 7 would mean not have one of them in the comics and possibile movies after the third, anymore.

I don't want to say it but they would probably kill Carol because she isn't one of the main characters. Just to add manpain for Kirk, of course
What are the remaining secondary characters? Sarek, Winona, Kirk's brother, Spock's brother...

I hope they don't kill any of them. They don't need to kill 2people in every movie for dramatic effect.

Uhura (please :))

The only prominent female character and one of the two poc of the cast, how nice of you.

That would be ripetitive.
I could see them having a storyline where everyone assumes she's dead (away mission gone wrong) but then in the end she is alive.
But killing one if the main 7is a bad idea especially if you get rid of the only female character we have in a cast of (mostly) white dudes.
It would be very controversial because of what Uhura also represents. Killing her character of all the secondary ones would be bad taste and send a bad message.

Death isn't the only way to add drama or have emotional scenes.
Think about how Spock would react if he (or more like Uhura lol) had a baby
Would be nice to end the trilogy with a birth, after all these deaths.
