Okay, I've tried both the Shazam and Soundhound apps for Android and neither one recognized the song. I also tried my hand at Googling the lyrics and came up short, same as you.

Oh, you mean it actually listens to the music and determines where it came from? My, I am so out of touch... 
Anyway, thanks for trying...I wonder if anyone will figure it out? (I am beginning to wonder if it's some kind of indie band now.) I'd definitely like to find out, because it sounds as though it's going to go into a nice solo right when it cuts off!!!

It sounds like ALANIS MORISSETTE but I cant and don't care about the song, but you might want to try looking up her lyrics.
I can't get any lyrics results either. I suspect that it's just someone's personal recording rather than a studio production.

I thought it was Bette Midler but a lyrics search turns up nothing. 
The voice does sound familiar, the way she slides off the note on the last word of each line.
It's odd that lyric fragments don't turn anything up. And the person on the site wasn't much help.
My suggestion would be to listen to other songs on other clips they've put up to see if tat voice is there and try one of those lyric fragments. I'd do it, but there's so much kewt there I'd end up in a diabetic coma.

This. Actually reminds me a lot of Lisa Loeb...if she had a cold. Possibly a religious artist, considering the song constantly refers to the Lord.
Honestly, it sounds like the kind of song that Joss Whedon would have used at The Bronze on "Buffy."

Yep, both apps, which are available on the iPhone also listens to a 10-15 second clip and identify the song, artist, and album. I've had pretty good results with Shazam, I even identified a song from a YouTube video this weekend for my mother, sadly not for this song though.
It's not "subjective", maybe to someone who's hearing impaired. And I never thought it sounded like her so why did you say I did?

What on earth are you talking about? If a voice is 'good' is something that would be hard to determine and would be highly subjective but the vocal styles of well-known artists are easy to determine for anyone with a bit of training or an ear in the same way that a wine taster can identity different regions or a art expert can identify a painting. Sure they will get it wrong now and again but 9/10 they will get it right.
If you are familiar with the works of Alanis Morisette you'd have to hear a hearing problem to think that was her.
