Can anyone help please? (warning, encyclopaedic knowledge required!)

Hi,

Just wondered if anyone on here could help me track down a favourite moment in Star Trek for a book I am writing?

Data is asking someone (it could be Gynon/Whoopi Goldberg, but I'm not 100% on that) why human women wear make-up on their faces.

Its a really interesting bit of dialogue and I'd love to know what is said, and which episode it is in. Sorry it's a bit of an obscure question!

All I can think of is a scene in "The Outcast" where Soren (the androgynous alien Riker gets involved with) asks Dr. Crusher about why human women wear their hair more elaborately and "apply color" to their faces and nails.

Thanks very much indeed, I will check it out!

...It's a bit funny that Soren accuses Bev Crusher of "elaborate hair", instead of inquiring about Will Riker's far more elaborate facial hair arrangements. (If anything, Bev is having a casual hair day, and I can't see much in the way of nail polish, either...)

Also funny is that most of the E-D women usually have relatively plain 'dos compared with what the men do with their forehead hair and bangs. Yet "The Outcast" sees an odd resurgence of almost TOS-style female hair arrangements... In the form of the one lady Soren spies with her beau at Ten Forward!

If it's not this scene you're thinking of, it COULD be the opener from "Quality of Life" in which makeup vs beard-growing is discussed as well...
