Q would be the perfect solution for the gripers. After JJ is done making his millions off of these movies, there is a 10 second snippet (possibly DVD bonus alt ending) where John DeLancie snaps his fingers and everything has been restored haha

Kirk beat him to being captain rank by reporting an incedent where Ben left a circuit open, and Ben was pissed at him for it because he was demoted to the bottom of 'to promote' pile. So maybe well see or hear something like that. But i doubt it.
