Fucking hell. My copy just developed a crack in it. It's totally unplayable now.

Is anyone else having problems connecting to and hosting games since the update was released? It's taking almost a half hour for me to connect sometimes.

Weirdly, I played Halo for a few hours yesterday for the first time in months. Vehicles = suck. 
I kind of hope that IW never puts vehicles into their games... that said, I hate that all the maps are urban sprawl/close quarters. If only you could play CoD4 on Halo 3 maps...

My brother recently got COD4 for his 360, but I've been playing it even more than he has been. He doesn't have XBL, but the SP campaign is so good I don't really mind. Right now I'm going through it again to pick up all the enemy intel laptops; my first time through I was so absorbed in the game I never noticed them.

The games class... one of the best FPS type games I've played. Sooooo funny online when its all hectic and everyones knifing each other and then dying by matyrdom... hahaha
I have it for the PS3. Quite a few of me and my mates have been going online trying to cain people, but they are all new to the game and im the only one who's been through the game at least once
Can't wait for the update and for the new maps that are on the way! :thumbsup:

The 1.1.74 patch was released about 3 days ago (for Xbox, that is - but is not the PS3 on the same schedule?)
The patch is great - they fixed the ACOG scope such that it doesn't suck now and is actually useful.
Not sure when we're getting the new maps...
The air strike and martyrdom kill cams are awesome too.

No, the patch for the PS3 has not yet been certified by Sony (last I heard) so we're still waiting.
Yeah I've heard about that. I actually have the 360 version as well as the PS3 version (long story) and had run the update but I only had time to play a couple of games on the 360 version. I guess I never got killed by a grenade because I never got one of the new kill cams.

No XBL? Then you haven't really played yet. Get XBL and try COD4 on it. You will get ripped apart at first but the learning curve isn't so steep that you can't get things under control b4 you become too frustrated. The options as a Live player are really cool and the game truly becomes "supercrack".
As for the guy with the connection issues-yeah, I've noticed occaisional delays-I think the servers are still sorting out what's what. More annoying is when we back out of games-no matter what, my party leader can't pull the whole party out like we used to do-we all have to jump out even when our party leader is host.

This IS pretty great, although (as I stated in the Misc thread) I'm choked that there is no split-screen online multiplayer
, my gf and I LOVE to play COD3 and Halo3 together. Now whenever I try to play CoD4 she bugs me to turn it off and play Halo with her

Anyway, if anyone wants to play, my XBL tag is DrNguyenVanPhoc. Bonus points to anyone who can nail the reference (hint, it's actually spelled Phuoc, I had to drop the u because of the character limit)

WHY would you take it back? As stated earlier-I use my Halo3 for a coaster(damned expensive coaster) because attempting to play it after COD4 is just frustrating-no accuracy and half the bullets bounce off, lagtimes are sad and people often walk through exploding grenades unscathed.
