Bye-Bye Ponds?

And Gatiss is Mycroft Holmes on Sherlock. If he became the Doctor, that would be weird. "How's the diet going, Mycroft-er- Doctor?"

And I think Gatiss would be a terrible choice.
Agreed. He was good as Mycroft in Sherlock and as Robert Louis Stevenson in Jekyll, but I don't think that he would convey the Doctor's dynamism too well. He might make a good Master, though.

Gatiss played the Master opposite David Warner as the third Doctor in Sympathy for the Devil, one of the Big Finish Unbound plays. He did a decent job, as I recall.

As much as I admire Gatiss (mainly in his non-DW capacity), I don't think he'd be the right choice for the role of The Doctor. And I don't think he'll be the next one, anyway.

Personally, I think that's too obvious, so it's clearly a misdirect.

Plus Smith has been confirmed for the Christmas special. The fact the Doctor will survive the gunshot is a given - that's not a spoiler - the trick is how they're going to get out of it.

And the number of ticks in the Stop Watching column grow bigger.

OK, put your money where your mouth is. Commit right now that you're not going to watch the show if you feel that strongly about it.

The number of ticks in that column will be only a few, probably joining the one or two who never understood the concept of Doctor Who and stopped watching when David regenerated.

I just saw the video of Karen being introduced at ComicCon. Not exactly a lot of booing going on there.

I welcome Karen back. It's clear Moffat wants to get away from the revolving door of companions we had(Rose,Martha, Donna.

We all know Twelve will be Johnny Depp right after BBC merges (or sells the rights of DW) with an ever growing Disney Corporation....

I'm still sore about the whole Disney buys Marvel thing even months later...=(

Disagree about Karen's acting. She's been one of the stronger actresses companion wise on the show. I wasn't expecting much out of her when series one started but she's been a pleasant surprise for me. I'm glad she's staying.

Another vote of confidence in Karen.

Though did they mention anything about Rory? ;)

Also, assuming Karen goes the full season, she'll be the companion with the most longevity in New who (well, apart from Sarah Jane but I think that's different).

I wonder if there's a chance of Karen and River being full time companions... together???

Meh. I'd just as soon see her move on. They've done about all they can with the character as far as I'm concerned.

Ah, that's the million dollar question re Rory. I was actually hoping the two of them would leave at the same time and be given a happy ending if possible. Much as I want Karen to stay, I'll be annoyed if Rory ends up killed off (again...permanantly this time)

Although I'm still convinced
River shoots him...
