Ok, this may sound like a rant, but oh well...IT IS!!! I am an OLD Trekkie fan (under 55) and I recently decided to collect/recollect Trek on DVD/blu-ray. Ok, before i continue let me tell you what I expect...I want brand new items/sealed and want them packed extremely well to avoid dinged/dented up corners. Is that an OCD issue/request?? I don't think so.

To clarify, these days you cannot just walk into a store and pick up what you want...online sales are where it is at. Physical media is going away. So, my recent issues with Walmart/Target/Best Buy are as follows...I ordered online...specifically requested what I wanted...condition/packaging...ALL of that was ignored!!! Most of the time items were shipped with little to no packaging and in crappy mailers (with few exceptions)!

And the Target people are a hoot...you tell them what you want and they respond that you should NOT be worried, everything will be handled, items will be packaged well & will arrive in immaculate condition and BOOM...you get damaged items!

So, IMO DO NOT order from Best Buy/Target/Walmart if you want quality...eBay sellers are the best! Yes, 9 times out of 10 when you request an eBay seller to pack extremely well they do so. Often if you buy from eBay, even OPEN items look far better than sealed items from other sites.

Since this doesn't have anything to do with Star Trek, I am going to close this.

You can start a thread on shipping/retail experiences in Miscellaneous if you like. That would be the appropriate forum.

Thanks
