Bush just said goodbye!

Grow the fuck up lefties. He went out with class.

Anyone see the star up in the sky? The messiah is coming to town. Next up: the Immaculate Inauguration.

Grow the fuck up lefties. He went out with class.

Really? Seemed more like he was desperately trying to seem like he wasn't all that bad but failing miserably at it. He was a terrible president, nothing can change that. His approval ratings are in the crapper, the economy is dead, Iraq was a disaster, Afghanistan is coming back to bite us in the ass and he singlehandedly cost his own party a ton of seats.

Well, that last one isn't so bad.

Overall, I'm not a fan of Bush but I am curious: don't you think he deserves some credit for preventing any more terrorist attacks on U.S. soil for the last seven years?

9/11 was a freak occurance. NOTHING Bush did prevented another attack, another attack simply wasn't atempted.

Clinton had an open opportunity to have UBL killed. That's not in dispute. He declined, Had he taken advantage of this opportuinty 9-11 never would have happened.

9-11 was no freak occurence.

And there are documented cases of terrorist activities foiled since 9-11. Buffalo, NY for example.

Truth = good.

Kool Aid = bad.

Well I said good-bye to him too... by not watching his farewell speech.

God, what a horrible president. I've never seen anyone make so many bad decisions, and just fuck up everything he touches so badly. Man...

Anyways, time to finally forget about him.

Grow the fuck up lefties. He went out with class.

Yep. "With class."

In his umpteenth ramblimg and bumbling speech pointing out his inerpetation of his successes by again "reminding" us of 9/11 to scare us into thinking, OH MY GOD, THIS MAN KEPT US SAFE FROM TEH TERROIRST!111!!!"

When he did NOTHING of the sort. He's led 1000s of brave American men and women to their deaths on a bed of lies and decit in the name of "terrorirsts."

He's taken away YOUR RIGHTS in the name of "terrorism."

And where are we in this wake?

The DOW is about half what it was a year ago, thousands of dead men and women, a city laying in ruins from botched planning and federal response, record lows in unemployment, and he's brought disgrace and shame to The Office.

Bill Clinton went out with the knowledge that the man had a frickin' BLOW JOB in the oval office while penetrating a woman analy with a cigar and he didn't disgrace the office half as much as George W. Bush has with his bumbling antics, his inablilty to put together a coherent sentence, his snickering, his wishy-washyness, his inability to command and lead and inspire people and his general "meh"-ness.

This man has brought shame to this country, to that Office and this country is worse off than it was 8 years ago when Clinton left.

Obama may not be ideal, but he can't be worse and he can only make things better for us because there's not a whole lot lower we can go.

The entire tone and feel of this nation has changed dramaticly over the last eight years all because Bush destroyed freedoms and lives because a few men got lucky and managed to crash a couple of planes into buildings.

9/11 was a tragedy, but EVERYTHING that has happened in its wake hasn't been worth it and nothing has changed that'll prevent another one from happening and nothing has made us safer and better off. They've even managed to trick us into giving up freedoms and rights in the name of "stopping terrorism" and this country turned over and put its head up its ass SO MUCH that nearly 50% of us believe that if you'vr got the balls to doubt and question your government you're anti-American.

When there's nothing MORE American than questioning your government.

Well here I am, questioning it and saying that Bush has brought disgrace to the office, he's made the government a laughing stock, our nation more hated, taken away rights and does it with a smug sneer, a snickering laugh and saying that he kept Americans, somehow, because a once-in-a-lifetime series of faults haven't occured again. What. Ever.

And good riddence! :bolian:

I think he meant the speech to leave a good feeling about him and his
Presidency. Didn't happen. I hope his life goes well as long and he stays
far from politics from here on out. :)

God, I keep forgetting how terrible he is at these addresses. How his speaking sounds so rehearsed yet at the same time so not rehearsed how you can almost hear the delay in the scrolling of the teleprompter and how utterly FULL of himself he is.

All of this stuff, "reminding" us of 9/11, deaths and, oh, insisiting it's our "duty" to free other people in other nations. Forgetting the other ruin and shambles THIS country is in.

GOD.

Jan 20 can't get here soon enough. I never have to hear another speech, address, or other blathering nonsense out of this man again.

GOODBYE, Bush.

We'll see how the frogs like their king.

Obama may fail, sure, but he could also make things better.

Remember, your opinions are nothing new, and will mean nothing fifty years from now, where they will not even be a footnote in an obscure book.

History will make the judgment on Bush now.

So, I'm not entitled to my opinion?

I'm not entitled to express my opinion and views because no one will see them or remember them?

Bullshit.

I'm allowed to both by the Constitution and the rules of this forum to express my opinion.

History can make all the judgements it wants on Bush it wants. Right now? Today?

I'm saying Bush sucks, was a terrible president and the next 4-8 years can only get better.

Could you tell me which right of yours has been taken away? Name the right. Tell me where you denied it.

Tell me of your economic suffering, and then expound on how Bush was the cause of that.

Tell me that freeing people from slavery and dictatorship was not a noble cause.

I never said you could not speak your opinion, did I?

We'll see in the next four years if things get better. Things can always get worse, and if they do, somehow I think people will make excuses for Obama.

Could you tell me which right of yours has been taken away? Name the right. Tell me where you denied it.

The USA PATRIOT Act

Tell me of your economic suffering, and then expound on how Bush was the cause of that.

My 401(k) is in the shitter because of Bush's mis-management of the economy. He may not be directly responsible but being the President he's the top man, he's in charge, I give him the blame.

Tell me that freeing people from slavery and dictatorship was not a noble cause.

A noble cause, sure. But not our fight at the cost of 1000s of American lives. We've our only problems here with poverty, turmoil, and strife. We don't need to be overseas spending billions and throwing away lives to give OTHERS freedom.

Americans one day in the not to distant future will come to miss President Bush and see that he did a good job for the United States.

Eventually, as information is declassified they will realize just how many terrorist attacks on U.S. soil were thwarted by the Bush administration in the aftermath of 9-11.

Although you don't believe it, you've been kept freer and safer because of the Patriot Act. I'll agree to disagree.

To blame the President for the recession is silly. Were you out there lauding him for the prosperity over his first seven years?

And some of us (most of our servicepeople included) believe spreading democracy is indeed a noble cause. It's what makes us the greatest nation on Earth.

. We don't need to be overseas spending billions and throwing away lives to give OTHERS freedom.

Good thing for the United States that the French didn't have that attitude in 1777.
Don't make completely idiotic and irrelevant comparisons. The French assisted an already raging voluntary Revolution. Bush did NOTHING EVEN REMOTELY SIMILAR.

Making disingenuous statements make a poster look not only obtuse, but mendacious. Consider avoiding it.
