Looking forward to this one!

Oh, hell yeah! Michael Weston has someone who is at least a CHALLENGE: the lovely Victor.

And, it just happens to be Michael Shanks playing him.

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD, I love Michael Shanks. :adore::drool::adore::drool:

Sorry......what was the question? Oh, right. It was a pretty entertaining episode, too.

"Come on, Michael. Sam even came with me to water aerobics."
"I'm sorry you had to see that, Mom.":lol:

Victor is a great character. He came across as a bit insane/psycho/unstable, the way he would change on a dime from serious to joking. I particularly liked the bar scene where he blows Michael's cover and the scene after the robbery where he does the little dance, does the hand gesture like he is shooting a shotgun when he compliments Michael's "style". You could tell that Michael takes him seriously because he had no idea what Victor might do.

I was only able to watch the last 20 minutes or so (Econ test this morning), but what I saw I liked. I'll have to catch it again over the weekend if they're having repeats that is.

Yeah, I think they do repeats. You can probably catch it on Hulu.com also and it's legal (edit: I just checked: hulu has the full episode with limited commercial interruptions).

I really liked this one, both story lines were really good. I especially liked Michael Shanks as Victor, he did a great job playing the pyscho. It was definitely a very different role from Daniel Jackson.

With Tricia Helfer as Carla & Michael Shanks as Victor, I have to wonder who else from SciFi's Friday night line-up will turn up on Burn Notice.

Re: Burn Notice: "Bad Blood" (Michael Shanks) 8/14 - Grading & Discuss

Enjoyed the episode, but the show is getting pretty formulaic.

Michael finds out something about his tormentors, usually teased by the end of the preceding episode, but he's interrupted by some person that needs help. Michael doesn't want to help, but somehow the suckers sad story (most likely about turning their life around) convinces him to reluctantly help out even though he has his important missions dealing with Carla. Seems easy enough, and Michael takes the most direct route to solve the problem. Only something goes wrong... and now he has to go undercover! This leads to lots of tense action where he has to convince the bad guy that he is who he says he is, which seems to go ok at first. But then he almost blows the whole thing, and Michael, via voice over, explains some interesting counter intuitive spy lore, which usually pushes the envelope enough to make the guy trust him. In the end he uses that trust to get that bad guy killed by his own guys, who are actually probably worse than the original bad guy that got killed, and get away scott free. The episode winds down with the client offering money or something, which gets turned down. Then you get hook for next episode, which ends up being the next breadcrumb in the Calra saga.

As much as I enjoy the show right now, I can see myself getting tired of the formula if they don't change things up soon.

Couldn't agree more, Cap. And I'm not crazy about the new trend of Michael looking like a complete doofus everytime he comes up against his new handlers. I liked it better in the first season when he rarely was able to contact anyone who knew anything. The few times it happened, it didn't turn out well for the reps of the "burning party." (think Richard Schiff)

Also, isn't it about time for an episode where Fi gets more to do than have a few snarky lines, distract somebody with her hotness (not that I'm complaining about that ) and blow something up. Her character is suffering worse than Michael's from the formulaic writing this year. The only ones who are getting more interesting things to do this year over last year are Bruce Campbell and Sharon Gless.

Still, I'll keep watching if for no other reason that to support my friend, who's on the design team.

Re: Burn Notice: "Bad Blood" (Michael Shanks) 8/14 - Grading & Discuss

I think that they are heading towards some big changes. But this only the second season, after a fairly short first season. I know that Victor and Carla aren't supposed to be in many episodes, so clearly something is on the horizon.

I, too, thought, "Hmm. Same old thing, here." But things keep escalating, so eventually, I think we will get to some answers.

I don't know if I want Fi to get too much screen time. I think she's really not all that interesting as a character, and is really good in small doses. More than that, and she gets a bit annoying. She's a great sidekick, but not a deep enough character for a much bigger role. At least, not yet.

Re: Burn Notice: "Bad Blood" (Michael Shanks) 8/14 - Grading & Discuss

I read a couple weeks ago that sometime in the near future we were supposed to be getting an episode that focuses a little more on Fiona, so hopefully we're get some more character development for her then.

I'm waiting for the Sam-centric episode where goes out into the woods and comes across a cabin with a book called the Necronomicon inside. :p

^ That's being saved for sweeps.
