Bryan Singer is directing X-MEN: FIRST CLASS!

Of course you should trust Wikipedia. It's the cardinal source of all knowledge. Well, Wikipedia and IMDB. If we didn't have IMDB, we wouldn't have been able to find about Leslie Hope's cameo as Aunt Carol on 24. (Too obscure?)

I hope YouTube is going to be here to film this!

Ummm... yeah. A Cyclops/Jean/Beast/Iceman/Angel story would have been nice, but they already screwed all that up.

^ Well, you can at least do the first three. They will probably throw Storm in there, as it was referenced that she was one of the first students (in the movies). It also gives the cast another female character.

The down side is if they do use the characters already featured in the movies, they will never be in any set danger as they are all alive and well by the time of X1.

Have a mutant get revenge on Xavier by killing his father in the past.

Without his father Charles never makes the Xavier institute.

It's like the original timeline although a bit different. So anyone's fate is up in the air.

;)

Well, the core characters wouldn't be, but you could have a lot of secondary characters in peril. There was a bunch of kids with unspecified abilities/identities rescued from Stryker's prison in XMO: Wolverine.

Emma Frost never appeared in the later (chronological) films, so she might bite the dust. Singer had apparently wanted Frost to appear in X-3 if he had done it, so he might want to use her here.

Plus there are tons of X-Men, Brotherhood, and other mutant characters which they've never touched on in the previous movies that could be used and killed off.

I guess if they're going with the movie continuity the line up will be Ororo, Jean, Scott, and Hank, I don't know who you could throw in for a fifth member? I really would rather see a Singer directed adaption of the comic with the Original Five X-Men and no Wolverine.

I just saw the video interview where Singer confirmed his involvement. Man, I haven't been this excited in years.
I don't believe you. More excited than The Dark Knight?

X2 was a transformative experience for me in terms of my passion for cinema, believe it or not. I wasn't really an X-Men fan until I saw that movie, and to this day I have yet to experience a film that has resonated so amazingly with a Friday night moviegoing crowd ... perhaps other than The Dark Knight. Bryan Singer is an idol of mine, and as an aspiring filmmaker, his films have captured my attention and interest. I remember watching his X-Men films at the cinema and as corny as this sounds those experiences are dear to my heart, so the prospect of another Bryan Singer-directed X-Men film really genuinely excites me. I'm looking forward to this more than a Chirstopher Nolan-directed third installment of Batman.

When is he going to direct it, before or after the Battlestar Galactica movie?

That is unsure at the current moment. I think Singer will do Jack the Giant Killer for WB and then move onto X-Men for Fox -- a funny symmerty since that was the precise order of things back in 2004 when Singer signed to do Superman. He wanted to do X3 afterwards but Fox said no. I guess Rothman learned his lesson, huh?

Anyway, I think the real projects that Singer was currently developing that may fall to the wayside is his Battlestar Galactica remake or re-imagining for Universal Studios and his Excalibur project, but I think he was just going to produce that one anyway.

I wonder if this will be a Reboot/Prequel, just to give a little more breathing room, creatively. Otherwise FOX has kind of painted themselves into a corner, continuity-wise.

But yeah, the original 5 members would be great. Scott, Jean, Hank, Warren and Bobby please.

I don't really want to see Patrick Stewart in bad CGI de-aging makeup for the THIRD time.

I liked XMO:Wolverine more than most people here I think, but for fuck's sake that was the shittiest thing I've ever scene. Surely to god they could have used the real actor and a good makeup job and lighting to take 20 years off his face... Uncanny Valley FTL, it was creepy.
