Bryan Fuller did it again!

It's just his thing now. I'd be more surprised by him not splitting from a production for one reason or another.

How many times is it now that he's quit/been fired from a series?

Considering what the article mentions about his previous behavior on set I'm surprised even more so that he is still offered showrunner jobs.

Didn't he want Discovery to be an anthology series or did I just make that up?
It was mentioned as a plan but I don't know how far that idea got as it probably would have been costly.

I'm starting to think Fuller might have some kind of issues. I wonder if the "creative differences" are a real thing, and he throws and tempter tantrum and gets himself fired every the time other people involved with the shows he works on won't let him do whatever the hell he wants.
Although from that article it sounds like there might some other more serious things going on. But you'd think in the post-Me Too era we would have heard a lot more about the harassment and all of that by now and he'd not be getting more jobs if he's as bad as the article makes him sound.

That was his original idea, but Paramount rejected that right away and told him they wanted a regular series. Still, it's believed the basic storyline of Disco S1 is what Fuller had planned as the first season of the anthology series anyway.

Friday The 13th
American Gods
Star Trek Discovery
Hannibal

Fuller’s “it’s my way or the highway” attitude has been a recurring issue on all these shows.

It’s been too long, but does anyone recall Fuller behaving like this on Dead Like Me and Pushing Daisies?

I honestly think something in him changed during the Hannibal era. Though I have nothing to back that up. :)

Why does anyone in Hollywood even approach him with a Project anymore? You'd think after the 8th to 9th time, someone would go: "Maybe we should stop bringing this guy in?"

Interview With The Vampire too.
And Amazing Stories too. And I'm not expecting Christine to ever happen. He also left Dead Like Me early on.

Sometimes once you break out, you can ride on that rep for a long time regardless of other factors. Like how Ridley Scott's early career survived multiple consecutive box office bombs.

Considering how much money and total control streaming services give to the Russo Brothers, Zach Snyder and Dwayne Johnson to make crap over and over again, why not let Fuller have his way with an 8-10 episode series? Would still be a lot cheaper than a $200 million movie disaster.

I thought they did and the result was the first season of American Gods?

Problem is he wanted more production money per episode for season two of American Gods, and they had already balked at the cost of season 1.
