British Genre Series "MISFITS" comes to... Hulu

I miss a lot or Kelly's dialogue, but she's a lot about hitting people, which translates into American very well.

Robert Sheehan has left the small pond of English TV...for the big time Hollywood of the Nicholas Cage movie, Season of the Witch.:guffaw:As impossible as it may seem, apparently Ethan's IQ was modeled on Sheehan's.

But is Misfits accurately captures the reality for English youth, as opposed to the youth self-image/impression of the world, England the unsinkable aircraft carrier will be put to the test.

Robert Sheehan didn't leave to do Season of the Witch, that was apparently filmed before Series 1 was made, but he had a career before Misfits, he's been in a few films, a couple of series but he just left to do other stuff which you can't blame him for, the next thing he's doing is Borrowers for the BBC, so it's not like he upped and left for Hollywood, and at least they're doing a farewell online episode for his character and introduction of the new one.

And I wouldn't say Misfits is an accurate portryal of Britain's youth, as it's an accurate portryal of a certain underclass, which is why it's called Misfits.

Not serious about Robert Sheehan's IQ, just couldn't resist a joke about Season of the Witch.

I'm still confused about whether they are supposed to be misfits (not like others) or typical.

Well they're typical chavs, but chavs aren't typical youths.

Just wanted to let everyone know that ep. 4 was added today. I haven't gotten it watched yet, but I probably will first thing in the morning tomorrow or later tonight.

Thanks to this thread, I was reminded about this series which I'd never gotten around to.

Now 3 days later I've seen both series, and I'm really wishing there were more episodes.

I know that British series are short due to various reasons, but 13 episodes per series would of been my ideal with this great little gem.

I was sorry to hear that RS would not be returning for Series 3.

As it stands, I'm currently watching several British Series in various stages of production/series.

Being Human
Luther
Misfits
Doctor Who
Sherlock
IT Crowd
Merlin
Primeval
Sarah Jane Adventures

Any other particular gems that have aired relatively recently (Past 5 years or so) that might be worth tracking down?

Of course if there's something classic (Longer than 5 years) feel free to recommend them as well.

My only criteria is that they're good, not necessarily sci-fi.

Thanks.

^Recent shows/mini-series I'd recommend...

The Shadow Line
Exile
Deadset
Jekyll
Torchwood Children of Earth
Afterlife
Wire in the Blood

I've not seen but I hear Red Riding and Any Human Heart were great, too.

ETA:
Couple of comedy shows worth checking out

Rev
The Trip
Inbetweeners

If you're going to watch Children of Earth you really should watch Series 1 and 2 of Torchwood first.
Jekyll is great. I was one of the first things I watched streaming on Netflix and I absolutely loved it.

Well 1 and 2 aren't really necessary to CoE and may actually put people off CoE.

Well regardless, I've seen all of Torchwood and am currently watching Miracle Day.

I guess I didn't list it since CoE was a while ago, and for the most part, Torchwood doesn't feel like a UK show specifically anymore.

Thanks for the other suggestions, I've been meaning to check out The Shadow Line, Jekyll, & The Inbetweeners.

Well all of them are out on DVD here. I think Deadset is out there I know it's been shown for a couple of Halloweens running, I'm not sure about the others. I'd think The Shadow Line would be shown on BBCA at some point.

I'm not trying to be nitpicky, but it's "Dead Set, "not "Deadset." It's easier to recommend to someone if you get the name right.

So it is.

Damn, now I'm two episodes behind on Hulu. I'll have to get caught up tomorrow.
