No, the Gage was a ship that was mentioned in an earlier draft of the Emissary script that didn’t make it to the final draft. The Kyushu was mentioned as well. Even though it was never mentioned in the episode, for some reason Okuda added the Gage to the Encyclopedia. It was listed as an Apollo class starship, but there wasn’t a model built for it.

Well, I´m not satisfied with the pod for the Artemis variant, so I tryed two other configurations.

Are those yellow domes supposed to be functional phaser emitters? If so, it seems like a very narrow range of fire with a pretty good chance of accidentally hitting the sensor pods.

The original ILM-made Reliant filming miniature had those too. You could see them on close-up photos taken at the Christie’s auction.

They appear to be single-axis rotating phaser emitters that cover the lateral firing arc blind spots that can’t be reached by the main fore/aft emitters.

I get that, it's just that on the Reliant, they have an unobstructed field of fire. Here, if your aim is off by a degree or two, you've just blown a hole in your sensor platform. I was wondering if Starship was intending them to be functional phaser emitters, or if they're representing something else on his ship.

Oh, good point! Hadn’t thought of that in this context. You’re right, that would definitely cause problems in combat.

Don´t worry. They were carefully alligned in a way they won´t destroy the sensor plataform. They offer just limited coverage to the top of both parts of the sensor and to the front/behind them.
The left weapon covers the top of the right pad, and vice-versa.

The Apollo is a design made by Eric Peterson around 1998. And apart of minor changes, overall I´m following the original concept, with the megaphasers kept under the pods.

But the sister ship Artemis is a variant that I´m building based upon the original Apollo. In this one, I will try other configurations.
