So here's the challenge:

You've been contracted by CBS to bring one Trek series back from the land of the TV dead. You may bring back any cast (they all sign on) and it is set on the same ship/station as the last time we saw them.

Here is the clincher: After one season the series will end again and the ending will involve the destruction of the ship and the crew.

The question is which crew do you bring back for the final voyage?

*was VERY close to hitting submit for TNG... untill she read the catch*

Ooh... holy crap, dude! As much as I absolutely LOVE the TNG crew... I don't think I could bring them back if it means they all die after one season!

With that catch, I really don't know who I'd vote for at all!

Okay.

Cool. Since TOS had the shortest run...

Sweet. TOS can finally get the ending it deserves.

Here is the clincher:

Alright....

After one season the series will end again

Eh. Four seasons is better than three. TOS all the way.

and the ending will involve the destruction of the ship and the crew.

Shit.

The question is which crew do you bring back for the final voyage?

Um...

...Enterprise.

:shifty:

The Next Generation, no doubt about it. Wash away the bad aftertaste of the film franchise.

DS9. But the new season would take place before the end of season six. Ergo, Jadzia can be on board and she can have a meaningful death scene this time.

I always thought Voyager should have ended with its destruction while still in the Delta Quadrant, so that's my choice.

I voted for Enterprise. I felt like they got shorted, especially with that final episode. The final season could deal with the onset and eventual end to the Romulan war, with their ultimate heroic destruction during a pivotal battle.

Actually not such a bad idea.
They would have to do the ending Space: Above and Beyond style. Ship getting destroyed, crew picked of one by one, Archer the last to go ensuring the survival of everyone else.
The final scenes would be a decade later, the young federation celebrating it's tenth anniversary and honoring the crew of the starship Enterprise whose sacrifice made everything possible in the first place.
Yup... that works :-)

I would have voted ENTERPRISE, till I read the catch! I'm sorry, but I always saw the NX-O1 surviving the earth/romulun war.

I considered TNG or VOY just for the chance to kill the crew. If Wesley had still been on the show that may have sealed the deal. TOS had the shortest run but I am afraid season 4 would be like season 3. With Enterprise getting better the third and fourth season I would sacrifice the ship for one more season of the show.

Voyager. They make it back to Earth. They all get promoted and then the Borg invade and Janeway gets eaten by a Borg cube, turned into the new queen and then sacrifices herself to destroy the Borg, blowing the Cube and herself up. But Chuckles flies the ship in to try and rescue her and gets taken out too. Only Seven survives.

Enterprise, it needs a proper send off, even if it means the crew blowing up.

Bye bye Archer

Enterprise.

I'd love JJ Abrams to join forces with Manny Coto & Mike Sussman on that show. A three hour mini-series spanning the Romulan War and Birth of the Federation. Bending the rules slightly, I'd have an elderly survivor telling their story in a 23rd Century setting (so some reuse of current sets). Following the launch ceremony of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701, Former President Archer (in a death bed confession) recounts an attrocity which ended the war. He reveals a Federation born from a lie and how a legend was created to protect it.

^DUUUUDDEEE I LOVE your avatar!
:techman:

I loved all those plans a foot for Enterprise's 5th season. Top of the list, Shran as a regular. Yeah, unlikely he'd be in an Earth Starfleet uniform. More likely he'd be cultural exchange or an advisor like T'Pol or Phlox. But a neat shake-up to status quo like Worf fitting in aboard DS9 or Seven, *ahem* rubbing up against the Voyager crew!
