Brilliant But Cancelled

I also remember liking, but it's been so logn since I've seen it I can't really comment, a short-lived seires called "My Life and Times" (scored by Lee Holdridge, Alf Clausen, and the final episode by Don Davis).

I remember liking that show. Don't remember many details but I liked it.

My "Brilliant But Cancelled" picks:
* Firefly
* Caprica
* Dirty Sexy Money
* Wolf Lake
* Reunion
* Vanished
* Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
* Dollhouse
* NBC's Las Vegas
* Moonlight
* CBS' Vegas
* Star Trek Enterprise
* ABC's V
* Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman
* The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.
* The Secret World of Alex Mack
* ANGEL
* Revolution

For me:
Police Squad!
Sledge Hammer
The River
Terra Nova
Space Above and Beyond
Futurama (again)
The Critic

Yeah that's the thing about Dark Skies, if it had continued, maybe no 7of9.

That's a risk I'd have been willing to take.

Firefly
Dark Skies
Space: Above and Beyond
Now and Again
Threshold
Invasion
Surface
Star Trek: Enterprise

...all deserved more than they got.

I completely forgot about this one and it just came to me:

Caprica.

Sure, it was...less than great in the first half of its season, but after that in the second half? Holy crap, that show clicked for me. And it's last 3 or 4 episodes were stunning with a brilliant epilogue that promised a fantastic season 2 that we never got.

So yeah, I'd add Caprica to my list.

Yes, I liked the first half of the season alright (more so in retrospect), it was good world building but with a pace that could have handeled a lot better... Sadly most people had given up by the time the show really kicked in. And thinking of that epilogue... oh, the things that could have been.

I stopped watching after the first half. It seemed to me like the story was scattered all over the place and overly focused on the less interesting but more shock-oriented terrorism aspect of the story. If you're saying it got better I may have to finish it.

I forgot about Wolf Lake. It wasn't a great show, but it was ok.

The epilogue was not a promise of things to come, it was a "fuck you" for cancelling us.

The show should have been a 13 episode miniseries / limited series / whatever the fuck they want to call it. There was never enough story for seasons and seasons.

1. Firefly (obvious choice)
2. Angel (though I'm really not sure how you end a show about an immortal being though they still managed to end BTVS on a fairly decent note. The ending we got wasn't awful, but felt too rushed)
3. The Critic (underrated animated gem w/Jon Lovitz)
4. The Ben Stiller Show (what happened? Ben Stiller, Jeneane Garafalo, Andy Dick There was some great stuff on the show)
5. Napoleon Dynamite (disappointed to see it cancelled so soon, especially since they were amazingly able to bring the entire cast from the film back)
6. Star Wars: The Clone Wars (It had a pretty good run and had become a stellar show starting in Season 3-We got 5 seasons plus we got an extra half season of already finished/nearly finished content plus a comic series and upcoming novel. Wait, I thought that they were FINISHED with the series?!)

Good choice.

Young Justice is another choice of mine.
