Bride of Chaotica

Paris can rattle off those words as easily as we talk about phase variances and plasma matrices.

was this costume of the "Queen" a bit like a Dominatrix Outfit, or is that just my dirty fantasie?

this episode was really slash, Paris and his Queen  He needs a good spanking anyway.

Boy, is this a fun episode! :)

To me it's almost like a Voyager equivalent of A Piece of the Action.

I love the ready room scene. I'm a sucker for long takes, which in itself is enough. Janeway struggling to take the scenario seriously, Chakotay getting a laugh out of Tuvok's remark about the death ray, is just good, human stuff. I loved Janeway's glare at Tuvok about all other options being exhausted, as Janeway was being maneuvered into portraying Arachnia. The tinny-sounding music soundtrack in the holodeck was a nice touch. Does anyone happen to know if that was some stock music, or was it written for the episode? If it was written for the episode, it's excellent work!

Satan's robot is great! I liked how it ran after Tom and Tuvok when they left to go to the rocket ship, that was really cute.

Tom: Intercepted communications between Dr. Chaotica and Arachnia Stop. Chaotica at war with aliens from fifth dimension Stop. Must strike now to disable death ray...
Tuvok: Stop.

Fun stuff! :)

I imagine the cast loved doing this ep. There's a movie-type poster for it; did you know that? I bought it.

That there is a problem on the holo-deck is something Harry and Tom immediately digested - especially Harry. The anomalies that formed had to be figured -out and then destroyed(or turned off). What came from the anomalies was something they really didn't accept too seriously. They couldn't be accepted as sentient beings or beings, for that matter, but just forms the computer made as adjunct to Toms programming. If the computer called them as beings than they really didn't want to deal with it.

You feel it is the sentient beings that intercepted Voyager and brought the ship to a stop? Well it also could be the program or the holo-deck systems fighting the ships systems or it could be ill-found and scanty knowledge of the effects of A.I. connected to what it can do.

"Bride" was definitely one of the more enoyable VOY episodes.

Yeah, they all seemed really into it. About time we got something that everybody can just have FUN with!

Speaking of the cast: I wonder what Martin Rayner (Chaotica) is doing lately. Perhaps he could return in an Abramsverse film and play a different bad guy? nuChaotica! :D

JANEWAY: Let me get this straight. Trans-dimensional aliens have mistaken your Captain Proton simulation for reality.
PARIS: Yes, ma'am.
JANEWAY: And now an armed conflict has broken out between these aliens and Chaotica's holographic army.
PARIS: Yes, ma'am. His Army of Evil.

And of course Paris gets to say this to Captain Janeway..

PARIS: I'll see you at the Fortress of Doom. And remember, you're the Queen!
It's pure camp, Paris knows it and he's just sucked right into it. Look at these ridiculous things he gets to say to his commanding officer! It's like all his worlds came together and baked him a perfect cake.

Loved the dialogue between those two! Tom is just golden in this episode! Also, I wish they had made a Janeway "Queen Arachnia" action figure.

I've kind of always thought Janeway and Tom would make a good couple.

Whoa if Art Asylum had made a Queen Arachnia action figure, special super nice edition, I would pay very much for it. WHY can't we have these things.

And Janeway in the white tux from The Killing Game Part 1! And... Janeway dressed in her uniform but with her "later seasons" hairstyle. They made one with her bun and ponytail but not her bob. We get a mutated Tom but not a third Janeway! Seriously?

After reading the comments here, I wish I could have persuaded them to do my VOY the Musical idea. :(

I hated singing eps because of Sanctuary.

Then I loved singing eps because of Buffy.

I'm not sure I could hack it with Trek, would considerably up the whimsy factor.

There was 2 minutes of singing in Deep Space Nine.

OH.

Enter if you dare...

It would have been cool!
Tuvok ripping it up Hendrix style (Tim Russ plays guitar)
Tom Paris in a gold lame suit
Torres as a Janis Joplin-style singer.
Janeway as a torch singer.
