They really hit it out of the park this time with Data's makeup. Even aged he looks more like TNG Data than Picard Season 1 Data. They really nailed it with the hairpiece hea wearing this season. It's perfect and mimicks his original hairline very well. Whoever has done hair and makeup this season is doing a fantastic job....

I agree. I wish Discovery had the talent this show has in makeup, perhaps we would have had real Klingons instead of the asanine versions in Discovery.

Agreed. Data looks like Data even though he's older. Also loved when he had that intrigued happy look when he felt his first aging pain. Spiner is hilarious as ever. Man why didn't we get this 4 years ago? What a waste of time season and 2 were.

I agree that Data's hair is right in the sweet spot. Unlike whatever it was they glued on him in season one. Yikes.
A wig so bad it has to be altered in post is not something that should be on your resume.

The Klingon makeup/ prosthetic design and execution for Discovery was amazing. Some very talented craftspeople did that work. And I thought they looked fantastic. They just weren't the Klingons we regulars knew and loved. So what you actually mean is you wish they hadn't changed the look of the Klingons. Right?

The Kelpian makeup shows otherwise. The Klingon make-up may have been a misfire, but it wasn't due to lack of talent.

They do have the talent. That was the look Bryan Fuller dictated. Has nothing to do with the artists.

They just could not get it right for whatever reason, whether it be very short prep time, overly tight budget, or a hack job, they just did not get it right, I feel like someone definitely heard about it.

To one that brought the hairline too low.

That element they should have been able to get right in camera was just "Unfortunate", and the digital fix on it was inconsistent and all over the place, and that's not to trash the VFX people, there is a ton of work for them to do, the hair should never have been their problem.

But, they got it right this time

Yes, I remeber this as well. STD season 1 was a total botch as Fuller was not allowed to acheive his vision for the show.

Ummmmmm ok. I feel like they should have made the switch earlier.............he's proven to be very unreliable. And hasn't done much since.
