Brent Spiner & Series Three

B4 is in pieces in a drawer at Daystrom, so unless someone figured out how to fix him.

I still give them props (not pun intended) for actually tracking down screen used data props for that scene. I don't believe they're B4's from Nemesis, but TNG Data/Lore parts.

 

Magical Resurrections and Star Trek are old friends.

 

So who have he heard about, would recognize on a poster, but haven't seen before...?

 

This is also the same series that just made up a new Soong (as is tradition, granted) at the eleventh hour. Hand waving someone fixing B4 is completely plausible, if not a little boring.

My money is on finding a whole new android that looks human and old, originally built by Noonien Soong that he was planning to put his consciousness in before Lore murdering him. They start him up and without the consciousness transfer, he's just a regular old Data-type android, curious about the world and having trouble with contractions. The TNG crew gets to be a surrogate parent to this new android and help him walk his new steps, all the while thinking of Data and reliving a lot of memories and having warm feelings. Either that or they find a new Soong android and it IS Noonien Soong, who survived Lore's attack and transferred his consciousness into a new android, a la Cold Equations novels.

I just really, really don't want another new Spiner character. We have enough! We've had one that committed a hit and run. That's enough, lol.

 

I think it would be 'disappointing', given the many Soong characters, if we had a non-makeup one to conclude this. I hope it's an android/synth and possibly aged-looking character, rather than Spiner's normal look yet again.

 

Maybe he's Adam Soong again -- the "Operation Khan" document at the end of S2 was him looking up the location of a remaining sleeper ship so he could escape Earth and be awoken in the 25th century to exact revenge on Picard.....

 

Season 3 is supposed to be standalone.

Though she didn't even know about Altan, maybe Soong didn't give her all her memories...?

3 prototypes and Lore.

 

I've said it before, Altan Soong builds a new golem and combines his consciousness with another recovered Data positron. Voila, new/old character, no android makeup required.

But hey, I'm probably wrong.

 

No I mean did Doctor Soong have siblings before Picard.

 

I don't think it was ever mentioned. Knowing PIC, they'd give him a twin brother or something. Maybe triplets.

 

I get that Spiner doesn't want to play Data.

The problem is that what everybody else wants is for Spiner to play Data.

I mean, it's his most beloved character and it's conceivably the last chance to get the band back together...

Eh, I'm calling it. I'm pretty convinced Spiner will in some form portraying a Soong Android who may or may not be B4. They've kept it out of teasers so they can do a second round of publicity reveals with B4/Whatever it is as the spearhead of their promotion.

Maybe I'm wrong. I hope I'm not. Because I'm not interested in another Soong. I was barely interested in the ones with had in PIC so far.

 

This is what I think, esp regarding the promo posters. If he was playing a human Soong I very much doubt they'd have not included him in publicity.
