News Brent Spiner Returned for "Picard" (and you could do the CGI better in 15 minutes, we get it)

Leave poor data's face alone!
I'm merely demonstrating that it does not take millions of dollars to take some weight off of Spiner's face, some people have taken issue with his face looking too puffy, there are people who doubted any de-aging could be done at all because this is not a Marvel Film. I'm only demonstrating that if someone has tools and knows what there doing, it's not as difficult as many would think, it's very very common work that is done in the industry.

good lord, I know it's not a Marvel thing, thats my point, but the average Joe thinks that only Marvel are capable of it
and Lola is not the only place that does it or is capable, they are just the the primary go to guys for that. Picard does not have to use Lola for this work, but people kept saying that a TV Show could not afford it, people naively and ignorantly think that it's not going to happen unless you have "Marvel" level of budget

There’s an edit button..

Interesting. Between make up effects and de-aging computer programs, they decided to go with lumpy Mr. Potatohead Data. Not the approach I would have chosen, but...

I'm calling it: As Picard said in the series finale of ST: TNG, Data is the most clever man he knows in any time, so Picard is seeking advice/knowledge from Data but the only way to do that is with the head, which (along with that drawer of body parts), in probably what remains of the "blown up Data", so hooking it up in a Holodeck, he can achieve this in person.

IMHO, people complaining about the puffiness of Data are nitpicking. He looks better than anyone should expect him to look on a "TV" budget. I don't expect him to look exactly like he did on Encounter at Farpoint and Data's appearance had already changed by Nemesis and we all just accepted it. We should celebrate that Data, despite being an android character, is played by a human being rather than to call for more and more digital manipulations and substitutions which would make him even more artificial than he already is.

The eyes bother me most. Just a little too different from the way they were done before.

Given the length of the shot, and how much time there is until the show is released, I think there will be a bit more work done, but certainly not a catastrophic amount, perhaps another refinement pass, if this is as good as he looks, then I have no complaints, but he could perhaps use a bit of slimming on his face, mainly because it's very doable, but expecting him to look like he did 30 years ago is definitely wishful thinking, he already looks more youthful than in Nemesis, though still a bit on the bloated side, which is not a jab at Spiner, it really should be looked at as Digital Make-up.

I'm not crying over it. what do you suggest I should edit?
I believe he's talking about editing an existing post to add new thoughts, instead of making another brand new post right after the other one. The mods frown on too many posts being made in a row without other posters' posts in between.

Well then I guess that's my bad, I haven't really kept up with how those things work for about 10 years
