Breakfast Foods and Coffee Thread

I'll never understand how one can drink coffee - one sip and I'll be wide awake for the next 3 days. Therefore I stick with tea. fruit juice, elderflower cordial or my homemade rose syrup :yum:

I got lovely green eggs in the market (a rarity) and found them far too pretty to break them, so I blew a few out and had scrambled eggs with chives for breakfast. The empty shells will look nice hung up on flowering twigs next Easter =)

@Marynator: love sickness is pretty hard to cure, I'm afraid. The best remedy in my experience is tons of chocolate and good friends.

I discovered an interesting thing...
That non-drowsy Claritin 24 hr allergy stuff greatly amplifies that first
Morning cup...I can't sit for long...

I've got the good kind, lol, but I also found out I've got some sort of liver failure, my medicine isn't working, but I see my doctor on Saturday to look at what my next steps are. My loss of appetite started right when I met my new beau and I've been head-over-heels so that's really probably it, I don't have any symptoms from my liver problems, my ultrasound was clean and my doctor only found it because of routine blood test.

I hope you'll be well soon. One of my American relatives had some kidney stones. They were removed. The surgery brought some complications and pain. She is well again, luckily.

Google is not my friend right now. I might have a bile duct blockage, but if I have bile duct cancer I have a 30% survival chance. No one in my family has ever had cancer so I'm hoping. I don't have any symptoms except from my blood tests. Nothing turned up in my ultrasound and she checked all around and my gall bladder.

Don't use google for med stuf... searching for "headache" means that you'll end up on ordering a coffin already because you'll get diagnosed with the worst possible outcome no matter what.. :p

Three tea and three coffee.. that seems to be standard for a day for me besides water etc..

I made cheese and pepper omelets for breakfast this morning and they turned out so very lovely. I have some "english muffin bread" I picked up from my bakery that tastes wonderful toasted and spread with jam.
English Muffin Bread? Sounds nice! I'll have to try that next time I'm in America, I don't think we get this in the UK.

I don't get how people can drink coffee in the morning when the stomach is still partially asleep. Even the smell makes me gag at this time, Coffee is a evening drink!
I'm more of a green Tea drinker particularly infused with cranberry and/or lemon. Goes well with my porridge and toasted bagel.

As for grits, I am of the opinion that grits are a long-running practical joke by southern Americans to see if the rest of the world is stupid enough to eat their ground-up driveway if covered in salt. I tried them once at an ihop in Florida. Once was more than enough.

Every week day coffee is pretty much all I have until lunch time. Breakfast is for the weekends and usually a brunch. I love my food but two meals a day is not uncommon. Love tea in the afternoon and at bedtime. There is just something about drinking tea from a dainty cup, it's so refined :adore:

This is how I feel about oatmeal. It seems some primitive guy was making glue,
and said I wonder how this tastes?

:p

There's so much you can do to 'The Scottish Slop' though. Add honey, milk, sugar, vanilla, syrup, coconut and fruits. So much variation!

I chug tea from mugs. Clearly not refined!

I'm drinking coffee late on a Saturday evening.....
Would really like some of those eggs.....
For Mothers Day, I'm making an omelet filled with bell peppers and cheese,
per her request. And I do love sour dough toast....

She so enjoys breakfast in bed, and is getting older...
And WILL NOT be in a nursing home...No matter what she says.

:nyah:

And yes, @Marynator, she will want a side of grits!
