BOYCOTT THIS FILM!!!

I'm boycotting this movie by buying every ticket in the theater to make sure no one can see this abomination thus insuring its mega hit status and making more people want to see it :klingon:

I'll pretend to boycott for the first week until the crowds thin a bit.

Then I'll go see the doggone thing.

I hope to make the opening showing. I want to be the fist to bitch about it. :klingon:

To avoid the crowds, I'll probably wait until the first Sunday afternoon to see it. However, I'm afraid if I go onto 'trekbbs' between opening day and Sunday, I will see thread titles that will give things away, such as "Do you think it was right for Abrams to kill off Nimoy's Spock?"

I'm not addressing this to you, Gep -- It's just that your post reminded me of my concern.

So an advanced plea to the mods: Please control the thread titles to the best of your ability after this film's release. I'm sure as we approach the release date we will be given reminders as to not putting spoilers in thread titles (or in posts themselves, for that matter).

Absolutely nothing.

I'll be seeing this film no matter what.

I second that. Infact, the series needs this title to do well. So, I'll be seeing it 2 or 3 times. I cant go another couple of years with no Star Trek TV series.

If I have to watch Voyager or DS9 a 5th time through, I might just go nuts.

As soon as I figure out what this film is about I'll consider a boycott....so far nobodys actually been able to explain...all I know so far is "recast prequel in multiple time frames" which looks like a recepie for disaster to me.

Emphasis mine. I think this last part is a mite unreasonable for the sole reason of this basically eliminates any and all discussion of the movie. If it's in a thread that has "No spoilers please!" in the title, that's one thing, but once the movie is realeased, I don't think it's unreasonable to assume most threads about the movie will be filled with spoilers and should be avoided until you see it.

You're right...it would be difficult to discuss without spoiling. But hopefully one could tell from thread titles which threads are safe to surf and which are not, from a spoiler standpoint.

However, like I said: I DO intend on seeing this at least by the first weekend. I don't want to come to the discussion party too late (I don't want to miss the hors dourves!)

Anyone thnk maybe all this prequal stuff is a false flag and it's actually gonna be a post-nemesis movie?

(hoping)

OF COURSE! *punching his head on the wall*

The Enterprise will accidentally go to the end of the 24th century. Spock being the only original Enterprise crewmember alive, he'll be ordered to meet his young self! And a Romulan madman will take this opportunity to try and destroy the Enterprise before it goes back. How didn't I think of that before?

Sounds boring. I just might boycott that movie if this is what they came up with! :klingon:
