Very good episode, laughed a lot at the jabs towards ABC. Wonder if the creator ever thought of moving the show to a different station/network. Last two episodes next week

I don't like the Harvard girls case, she cheated far as I am concerned and is no different between a sport star taking a drug to improve there performance.

I can't say it without breaking the 4th wall  The judge should of said well the old people own CBS ;). Also great little dig at The Bachelor, which is replacing BL's slot in January.

been away for a couple weeks...but jumping back in now!

I counted about three instances of 4th-wall breakage. Carl Sack's was the best of them all. Shatner continues to tug at my heartstrings with his Alzh--Mad Cow storyline. Alan's hyperactive outburst was also great!

I am going to be soooo upset next week after this show goes off. I just got into it, damn you ABC!!!!

I disagree. Blood doping or taking other forms of physical performance enhancements can change the way your body works, handles stress, and deals with weight. Taking drugs to increase cognative abilities cannot give you knowledge you do not have or cognitive ability you do not have, it can only enhance what already exsits. - Sort of like alcohol. Alcohol cannot make you behave, act, or say things you don't do/know/believe it simply eliminates the inhabitions that naturally prevent you from doing them.

The drug the girl took simply gave her the clarity and presence of mind she needed to take the tests properly. If she had drank a couple cups of coffee before the tests to make sure she was awake no one of batted an eye.

Her doping didn't make her smarter, it simply gave her a sharper conenction to the abilities and knowledge she already has and, further, it's silly to dismiss someone for violating a rule you do not have.

Sport stars have the ability and can take a drug to make there access that ability better, the same for this girl.

I cannot wait to see Alan's final speech because I have the feeling when it comes to Denny's health that it will be the most powerful one ever.

Why was candice berman not in the episode besides the flashback? Last episodes, would have been good to have her in it, still a good and funny episode

She hardly was in the election day episode either.

She had a "minor" stroke last year, I think they ruled it a stroke. I would love to know how a stroke can be minor. I think that because of that she is taking it a little easier this year.

Or it could be that ABC didn't give Boston Legal enough money so she isn't in all the episodes to save money.

Did not know about her stroke, was that in the news?

How many people does CP&S employ?

Supposedly quite a few. We've seen the LA branch of CP&S. And I remember the mention of a New York branch as well.

~ I just did a wiki search and the BL page says that there are offices in:

Boston (obviously)
New York
LA
Washington DC
Chicago
Houston
London
Tokyo
Hong Kong
Mexico City
and "at least one other [unspecified] office."

They must employ hundreds if not thousands of fictional workers! ;)

But on to the episode itself: I thought this weeks was much better. I liked seeing the Shirley doll again, loved the nod to The Practice, and enjoyed the dragging of abc through the mud.

From what I've read, the finally next week will be the first proper closing of a show that Kelley has ever done. He doesn't count The Practice, since he believes it spilled right into Boston Legal. And his other shows have either been canceled before a proper ending could be written, or he's moved on to other projects and let someone else wrap it up.

So it should be interesting to see what he comes up with.

CBS needs to bring back Enterprise and give Manny Coto the 3 more years he deserves.

Anyway, nice to see Eliot Ness again, best damn TV series I've ever seen. Used to watch it right after Deep Space Nine, it was awesome.

Bring back some of the good stuff ya gutless bastards.

I'm wondering if a major law firm like that even can go broke; why wouldn't they just downsize if they haven't got enough cases to sustain their infrastructure, or at least merge with another firm? I have a hard time believing that.

Damn! If I looked like Candy Bergen did, Hubby would never let me leave the bedroom!

If you like Bergen, try "The Wind and the Lion." Plot is acceptable, music is great, acting is....well Candice Bergen, Sean Connery (somehow believable as a Barbary "pirate" with a Scots accent), and Brian Keith as Teddy Roosevelt.

Why would a law firm merge with another that went broke due to bad investments? That would mean an increase to expenses, overhead, and also assuming the bad debt, all of which affect the balance sheets. The size of a company doesn't matter as to whether or not it will go broke. TWA, Sears, Montgomery Wards, and the current Big 3 US Automakers are all proof of that.

To get the smart people employed there; I suppose a law firm is a type of business that is extremely focused on human ressources - differently for example from a auto maker, that has to spend lots of money on stuff like building factories, developing new technologies and training workers.
