Borg Queen Faceoff

Who do you prefer as the Borg Queen on Voyager? Susanna Thompson or Alice Krige?

I like Alice better. She played that nastily seductive angle the character has very well. The character is supposed to disgust you, but there's just something about her when Alice plays her. I don't know.

I usually like the first one who portrays a character. However, I must admit, I don't know if I'd know it was a different actor, if I didn't know. You know?

They both have the same body shape. So there is no difference there. Alice had more time to play the Borg Queen, so what. The character of the Borg Queen is very limited to being evil, so there is nothing of character difference.

Alice, but only barely.

Susanna did fine, but Alice just that weird, sinister sexuality that freaked one the fuck out.

Alice was way better. She had that freaky scary sexuality.

This was a difficult choice for me. I actually liked both performances each for completely different reasons. Alice went all seductive and sexual where as Susanna played the part more motherly, each one being twisted and unnatural in a different way. Neither dramatic choice was wrong in the end but for me it is more of a matter of how the character was perceived. One was more epic and sweeping while the other was subtle and quiet. In the end I went with Alice. There is just something about her phrasing of the simplest lines that titillates and yet sends shivers down your spin.

I like Susanna's take better. Alice was more suited to the movie version where she could chew the scenery.

Theyre both superb, and Im glad we got a chance to see both! I adore Janeway's confrontation with Thompson in UMZII, and with Krige in EGII.

I'm in the Alice camp, I think she's hot for an older woman. She played the Borg queen with the intensity I would expect of the position. Don't get me wrong, I think Susanna is a hottie too, but the performance wasn't as good.

They do have very similar body styles. It would be hard to tell if you didn't know they were played by separate actresses.

Susanna played the role more direct. When the Queen saw a problem she hit it head on. She didn't really play games.
Alice played it more like a female spider. When the Queen had a problem with someone she would try to lure them in and when not looking stab them in the back. More manipulative then the one played by Susanna.

Susanna Thompson is my fave, Alice's queen I don't like, the borgs queens meant to be cold, not seductive, I thought she was going to put the moves on Seven in Endgame really did, got rather excited about it.
