Has anyone ever done any pics of what the Borg would have looked like if theyd been in TOS?

One question should probably be considered:

Was there notion of "cyberpunk" even in popular circulation in the later half of the 1960s? I'm no expert on this, but I seem to recall that "cyberpunk" was popular in the 1980s, and that gave rise to the Borg. If the notion of such beings was not widely thought of in scifi literature, movies and so forth back then, there would have been nothing to base the Borg on.

The idea of people being combined with technology goes back a lot further than the '80s. The term cyborg was apparently coined in the '60s, so I'm almost surprised it didn't show up in TOS. :)

But didn't the term "cyborg" lend itself to much less menacing concepts, like The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman?

The Borg doesn't have anything to do with the Cyberpunk genre. Cyberpunk was about exploring the intersection between "high tech and low life" -- street culture meets tech.

The Borg is a straight-up call back to the old "dehumanization of technology" trope -- the same one that gave us the original BSG Cylons, the FemBots from the Bionic Woman/Six Million Dollar Man, the Cybernauts of the Avengers (UK TV), the Cybermen and the Daleks of Doctor Who, etc. etc.

I think they would look much the same. Maybe some add on would be a little less advanced, but really they would look pretty close.

Similar to the make up job done for Ruk, with a simple black leotard, some kind of a chest piece, a few tubes, a little bit of reflective mylar(because they loved that stuff.) and take-out lids on the shoulders. *shrugs*
