Borg and Deep Space Nine books?

Is there any books out there that have interaction between the Borg and DS9?

I understand it was off limits for the writers so we never got to explore how they'd react to it, I'ld like to see Sisko get a swing as the bastards who killed his wife.

^ Not in the way you're asking. A Borg cube gets mangled by the wormhole in The Siege and Borg remains are found in the Gamma Quadrant in Lesser Evil. Also in the eBook Enterprises of Great Pitch and Moment I had an explanation of why Worf was on the Defiant with a bunch of people we never met in First Contact. :)

Sounds like a gap!

There are some talented writers who watch this site

GET TO IT GUYS!:techman:
Get to what, Marco? DS9 had more than enough to deal with without the Borg, and Voyager did more than enough with them in the Delta Quadrant.

And don't so quickly dismiss KRAD's story, which puts Sisko in close quarters with Picard in the months immediately before the Borg attack in First Contact.

You do? Now I'm really curious, because that's something I've always wondred about whenever I watched FC.

^ Yup. The story teams Sisko and Picard up, and it was great fun to write. The epilogue takes place as First Contact is beginning, only with Hayes contacting Sisko and giving him his ordes.

This is no insult to any of the writers, but I'm glad there's no plans for Borg and DS9. They're overdone, and tedious, especially in the two latest Borg entries.

FYI, the fiction companion explains that the Borg story in Lesser Evil was originally pitched as a Sisko story. When the concept for the Mission Gamma series came up, Marco had the author retool it as a Vaughn story.

I pitched a Hugh-on-DS9 story back in the Ordover days, but that was when Voyager at least was still running, so the Borg were pretty much off-limits.

John Peel's "Objective Bajor" started off as a Borg story, but he had to change it to a new insectoid race for the same reason.

KRAD I've bookmarked links to those two books so I can buy them when I'm finished with what Im reading now, I will be getting back to the misson gamma series soon, I got distracted with the new frontier and wanted to finish that out first before reading anything else.

I can understand why they didn't appear ON SCREEN as they were Voyagers baby.
I'd just have liked to see Sisko get some payback even if it was only encountering a borg cube in the gamma quadrant.

As was also pointed out elsewhere, if they had attacked the station, DS9 probably would not have lasted 2 minuts as it's a stationary target, but I still would have liked to have seen some DS9-Borg intereaction.

I think Sisko got some emotional closure with what happend to his wife because of Picard at Wolf 359 in the second half of Emissary; I don't really think they needed to go more in depth into it than they did.

I suppose since the crew DID find a crashed Borg cube in the Gamma quadrant, it could be possible to have them interact with the DS9 crew at some point down the road...

Any chance we'll see this printed on dead tree at some point? :techman:

I guess if the Mere Anarchy (TOS anniverary e-series in 2006) reprint sells well next year, the chances are good that the TNG one will be reprinted, too.

Personally, I'm kinda glad that the Borg have been kept out of DS9. I think DS9 has enough other new bad guys, and we have plenty of Borg stuff in TNG and VGR.

editing because a thought just occurred to me. i believe DS9R is about 3 or 4 years behind TNGR. i think in the TNG books they act like they haven't seen the borg since first contact and the voyager stuff so i don't think it would make sense for a DS9R borg book to come out.

at last that's that's one reason i have for not wanting one.

Right now the Borg are TNG's favorite toys and he doesn't want to share it with any other series if he can help it.

DS9: Hey, Teeng...Can I play with the Borg for awhile?
TNG: No. Mine!
DS9: Just one story arc?
TNG: No. Mine!
DS9: *Sigh*

Seriously. Look what happened to Janeway when she tried to play with Teeng's "toys".:devil:
