Bones & Spock's Best Digs

Mojochi

Vice Admiral
Admiral
I've never really gone through & measured how biting, witty, close to home etc... some of their digs at one another hit. So I'd like to hear what others think are some of the best, (or maybe worst) things those two have said to deride one another

MCCOY: Compassion. That's the one thing no machine ever had. Maybe it's the one thing that keeps men ahead of them. Care to debate that, Spock?
SPOCK: No, Doctor. I simply maintain that computers are more efficient than human beings, not better.
MCCOY: But tell me, which do you prefer to have around?
SPOCK: I presume your question is meant to offer me a choice between machines and human beings, and I believe I have already answered that question.
MCCOY: I was just trying to make conversation, Spock.
SPOCK: It would be most interesting to impress your memory engrams on a computer, Doctor. The resulting torrential flood of illogic would be most entertaining.

I, Mudd....The opening scene where Spock and McCoy are discussing Mr. Norman :

McCoy : Maybe, but you can’t evaluate a man by logic alone. Besides, he has avoided two appointments that I’ve made for his physical exam without reason.

Spock : That’s not at all surprising, Doctor. He’s probably terrified of your beads and rattles.

Knowing what we know of the android, the idea of Norman being terrified of anything is ludicrous.

How did Norman conduct himself in the 72 hours he'd been aboard ship? Did he feign emotion at all, or remain passive, speaking only when spoken to (Yes sir, no sir)? Or did he keep to himself and avoid everyone who might have been able to observe him? What duties was he supposed to have had?

It looks like he's a lieutenant in Sciences, probably some obscure profession like planetary geography, cryptography or other, in which his services were not needed during his first 72 hours on board. Maybe he replaced the disagreeable Mister Boma in Astrophysics. ;)

Does it count if only one of them is present?

Star Trek III, breaking McCoy out of jail scene...

Kirk: You're suffering from a Vulcan mind-meld, doctor.
McCoy: That green-blooded son of a bitch! It's his revenge for all the arguments he lost.
