Bluetooth battle in public.

I've been watching for this. Two Ladies talking in a checkout lane chatting on their little over the ear "headsets" with whomever. After a couple of minutes of one trying to talk over the other, one turns around and says "Shut the f*** up, I can't hear my conversation." The second Lady look shocked and evidently fearing for her well being, ended her conversation. I've seen people walking around in stores just talking away, but never anything like today.

So... What exactly are the rules? Anyone know?

Today I felt like telling a guy in Target to pipe down. He wasn't so much loud, as that his voice carried.

I think of those Bluetooth ear jobbies as Douchebag Merit Badges from the Asshole Scouts of America.

Joe, anti-people

The phone leaves the house with me when I'm going on a trip away from home, or I have something exceptionally urgent going on that I need to communicate over... not that I can remember the last time I used my phone for that purpose.

When I'm in public with it, it's on vibrate. If it vibrates, I'll only answer if it has to do with a known urgency, otherwise, they can leave me a voicemail.

These people... eh fuck 'em. If I were in that line, I would have told off woman #1, and then proceeded to ream both of 'em.

Being handicapped does provide me some protection from retaliation, so one time a guy in front of me in line was talking on his bluetooth, really loud. I just started asking him questions about his conversation.

What did Mark do that made you so mad? Who is Mark? If he made you so mad you should just tell him off.

He hung up and glared at me until he saw my cane and my arm hooked up by my chest.

The people behind me were holding back laughter.

If I was dealing with this in my store, I'd have asked the more aggressive of the two to either not verbally attack my customers, or, asked him to leave, as we don't need his business ~that~ badly.

The rule is someone should have told them to both shut the fuck up.

Ideally, the clerk would be able to do this.

Not about any thing important, some thing silly really, but once a Customer Service Manager once told me she was the manager and what she said goes.

And I replied that as a Customer, with cash in my pocket, I out rank you, and I going. Some of that old career military attitude showed up.
