He played a part in "Star Trek:Of Gods and Men" which is about an alternate universe where James Kirk never existed--a horrible, miserable place, without sombreros.

I live in a cave you see...i never knew such a thing existed. (I never even knew about Cawley & his Star Trek until coming here)....

Thanks M for that article. How incredibly amazing it must have been for everyone involved. And how awesome that so many principals from TOS joined in!!!
(for some reason your second link wouldnt bring up the photos).

Has anyone thought to put a sombrero on Nurse Big Eyes from the movie's opening scenes? Nobody has done so yet and M'Sharak's avatar reminded me of that. Hmmmm. That chick would look both hilarious AND creepy in Mexican headgear!

They barely escaped with their sombreros intact!

You mean Starfleet Doctor Pushnow?

Yeah. The unspecified species with the big CGI eyes. I always thought Abrams should have made her a female Denobulan as a tip of the sombrero:shifty::techman: to Phlox and ENTERPRISE.
Every other main-character doctor in Trek and the overwhelming majority of the guest and secondary doctors have been human and from Earth, with the exception of the EMH, who was modeled after a human doctor from Earth. Making her not an Earth human was enough; making her Denobulan as well would have been a great big exaggerated wink and a nudge in the ribs ("say no more, know what I mean?") Besides, there was Admiral Archer's beagle for a nod to Enterprise.

Hey if anyone is watching Jimmy Kimmel.. they did a skit with the Guillermo Show... and the logo had a SOMBRERO! Someone SCREEN CAP THAT!
