I love the way the horn is poking out the top of the Sombrero.
Every time my wife looked over at the computer, all she did was shake her head and mutter....
And thanks to AdmiralGarak for the "Faster than a PEZ..." bit! A picture from the Super Friends cartoon inspired the multi-colored background, which seems fitting to me for some reason.

I tried to make a few avatars from it, but they didn't look too good. I'm sure somebody else can help.

You know what, that discussion made me a huge fan of the Talking Heads back then. (That and our chat in the music thread in the RA lounge.) I can't imagine a live without their wonderful, wonderful, wonderful This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody) anymore. One of the most beautiful songs I ever heard! Also, in a few days I will see David Byrne live in Hamburg! Yay!

Guys, AlboOfBorg, the creator of this thread hasn't logged in in over seven months now. I'm concerned.
First off, he created one on the silliest, most fun and (dare I say) popular of all threads that I've ever seen on the TrekBBS. Let us not forget that it was he and he alone who postulated that perhaps the warp nacelles should be blue. This of course spawned into the fuzzy dice, sombrero donning, Shatner Pez dispensing abomination that we love and cherish, be it a jpg or an animated gif.
My concern is that he left the boards due to the "warping" (pun intended) of this topic.
I, for one, feel he should be tracked down and rewarded. In the light of the all serious, fanwanking and chiding topics on Star Trek XI with people at each other's throats, this kind of thread serves as a kind of 'chill out' room and reminds us that we don't have to take it so seriously.

He's moved on to bigger and better things, I guess!
I'm still going through the backlog of 100 pages myself... has anyone tried a hand at making a kitbash Sombreroprise?
