Blssdwlf's TOS and TOS Movie Era ships

[old geezer voice] "Back in my day, we didn't watch Star Trek unless we had our handy-dandy 'Making of...' volume! No, sir! And later when that Gerrold fellow published his 'Making of...Tribbles' and 'World of...Trek', we kept them nearby, too! It was the only background material we had back then, and we liked it!" [/old geezer voice] ;)

Sincerely,

Bill

LOL. I have a printing from 1986 of TMOST. Kaiser, you can probably find a scan of that on one of the Star Trek blueprint sites. The main differences in that drawing and the build model are variances in position of the hulls. The nacelles are mounted farther out and the secondary hull has more of a curve to it in the forward/middle sections. Also the bevel on the lower edge of the primary hull.

You can see more of the comparison in my other thread about the TOS Enterprise (scroll to middle posts):

You mean the Tech Manual? I have a copy but i dont remember the pic having a beveled edge on the saucer :)

Hey blssdwlf great job. I really like your designs, especially the Defiant and Constellation. They're stylish and you made them fit in well with the TOS era. :techman: :bolian:

I love the pre-Pike work on the bevel. You have one on the dreadnought as well. I Love your take on the TOS dreadnought even better than FJs.

@publiusr - Thanks :)

Speaking of the dreadnaught, I added in the side and bottom indentions to the engineering hull and expanded out the impulse engine area.

Aridas made a somewhat longer secondary hull for the refit and called it Balson--also the TMP era dreadnought. Yours is a bit longer than that on the dreadnought--and the shuttlebay is in the back where it belongs.

Ahh, I see. In my mind the Excelsior was the refit as they dropped the 3rd nacelle and made it a Transwarp ship...
