Blssdwlf's TOS and TOS Movie Era ships

Really nice TOS-style Defiant concept! This really wouldn't look out of place beside the NCC-1701, K-7 station, TAS Bonaventure or Huron-type freighter. Would love to see some beauty shots of the design with proper markings and details.

That TOS-ified Defiant looks so much better than it has any right to. I'd love to see that little munchkin realized in 3D.

Thanks Alex. It's the same 3D model that is at the beginning of the thread. Sitzkrieg! had asked if I had any orthos and I was able to load up the old model and rendered it with the edges visible. A white background and radiosity on gave it an illustration-like quality.

The Dreadnought with the shuttle bay in the tail (vice in the front like the one in Franz Joseph Tech Manual does) is a bit like what ADB did for Star Fleet Battles. Not exactly the same, but enough so it reminded me of theirs right off.

I'd like to see that Dreadnaught--but without the top nacelle as a TOS Vengeance.

I had intended on the Dreadnaught being a precursor to the Excelsior. Just imagine the center nacelle removed and then upgrading it into an Excelsior design. I'm assuming the Vengeance as seen in "Into Darkness"?

That's the one--maybe beefed up nacelles to balance it out.
Hmmm, I'd have to put on my thinking cap for the "Into Darkness" Vengeance. Mostly it would be how something like that would fit in TOS which it'd just end up like another dreadnaught/battleship design. I'm not keen on the cutout in the middle of the saucer. I could just split the difference and paint the Dreadnaught black ;)

Keep the saucer hull you have--just try the gull wing nacelle supports.

This is a bit of an experiment but I threw this together when I had some free time tonight. Frankly, TOS starships could do everything the KT Vengeance so I sandwiched two nacelles together to make it look like the gull wing pylons had a reason to exist.

That's not half a bad idea; one could surmise that the high power-output of the ship would require some extra form of heat dissipation. I had to glance over the images a couple of time, but in the end I like it.
