Blink: "One Year Later" or not?

I need your help for a quick fact-check. I'm asking this of people who watched the original UK broadcast of Blink back in 2007 - not any of the DVDs or non-UK broadcasts.

There is some debate over whether a "One year later" caption appears just before the final scene in which the Doctor finally meets Sally. It's certainly not on the Region 1 DVD, nor was it broadcast on the CBC when they aired the episode, however the CBC made so many cuts for commercial time, that means nothing.

I hear conflicting claims as to whether the caption appeared on the original BBC broadcast. Apparently it's on the Region 2 DVD.

So does anyone here have good memory (or a DVR/Tivo/VHS recording) and can recall exactly what appeared on BBC One that day? Thanks!

PS. If Sci-Fi showed the caption, that's good to note, too, I guess.

Well I don't recall a caption, but that doesn't mean it wasn't there I guess. I have two different DVD copies of Blink (one on the vanilla disc and a freebie disc as well) but likely they're from the same source.

yeah I don't recall any caption either and would assume they wouldn't both removing something like that but I'm no expert

When BBC3 showed it last week, it did in fact contain a "One Year" Later caption towards the end.

I have a recording of the original BBC One broadcast and it does contain the 'One Year Later' caption.

I seem to remember that caption, though I can't remember if it was from CBC's broadcast or on DVD.

Definitely not on the DVD. "Blink" has the distinction of being the episode of Doctor Who I've rewatched most often (at least 10 times) and I'd have noticed. I don't remember a CBC caption. I think there was a commercial break inserted before "one year later" so it's possible it was there but got cut off.

I just looked at the YouTube link and my DVD - the caption is definitely not on the DVD.

And I also found out the %^%##%^#@ lame-ass plastic spindle in the middle somehow bust, so now the disc is rattling around loose inside the box! :brickwall:

^ I hate when that happens.

In other "Blink" notes, that remains the only TV episode I have on my iPod, though I haven't yet watched it in that particular medium.
