Bleach - Anime Disscussion (Spoilers)

Off topic: Not to cause a riot, but I think Smallville has gotten better over the last 2 years and is doing better than it's ever been.

While I miss Lex, he'd started to go over the top around season 4.

I'm glad Lana's gone finally, but that's only because they beat that "relationship" to death over 7 years. (Nothing against KK, but she should of been a recurring character after season 4)
 
Bleach manga is far from being finished. I am also reading the very latest mangas and all tidbits of news I can find.

“Canon” Bleach returns at April 13 with the continuation of the Ichigo vs. Ulqiorra fight. There is MUCH more behind it than this duel and it is already obvious that what happened will have big consequences for the character dynamic especially between Ichigo, Orihime and Ishida. Tite Kubo barely scratched the surface here and left with a huge cliffhanger.

That was about a year ago. Afterwards he returned to the winter war part we have already seen the start of in anime. This part is still ongoing in manga and is getting increasingly ugly and dramatic. Tite Kubo announced that the “Arrancar arc” will be finished in June/July. If that includes the dome story, I don`t know.

Afterwards he said there will be a “mini arc” and he said, then there will be the start of a longer arc in which Ichigo`s father Isshin will play a part. That must include the background story he also wants to tell. My guess is that this will include Ishida`s father Ryuuken and their relationship with Urahara.

Tite Kubo also mentioned that he is planning a Chad story. My guess is that this will be part of the dome story, meaning the aftermath of the Ichigo vs. Ulquiorra fight.

There will obviously also be more fillers, also long ones. The next movie is based on the Ichigo vs. Ulquiorra fight and will be out at the end of this year.

If nothing unforeseen happens, Bleach will go on for many more years. And I am happy about that.:)
 
You know....as sacrilegious as it may sound, I'm actually hoping that VIZ here in the states will re-order the episodes and put the two filler arcs that interrupt the Hueco Mundo/Karakura assault after it so the show flows better and is less frustrating.

Not holding my breath though.
 
^I honestly wouldn't have a problem with that.

The Flashback arc was fantastic though, and despite the interruption, that information is necessary to understand the background of what's about to happen moving forwards, so I'd want that to stay roughly where that was when it was shown.
 
Yeah, that's relevant to it so I'd lave that where it was too. The Princess filler and the Zampakuto filler would be moved to a more sensible point in the series though.
 
The Flashback arc wasn`t a filler because it appeared in the manga and also in the same place. I agree with you, it needed to be there - and I think it is indeed a fantastic story.

It is always a compromise where to place long fillers. I think it was the best choice possible placing the Zanpakutou filler before the Ulquiorra/Ichigo fight starts in earnest. I wouldn`t want THAT to be interrupted in any way and this could be long enough to fill its own season. But the Amagi filler did cut the flow of the story.

The main factor is of course how close the anime is getting to the mangas. Maybe there was no other choice but to interrupt the flow with the Amagi filler but I think the placement of the Zanpakutou fillers was carefully planned.

I have been wondering the same. I noticed that Tite Kubo and whoever else wrote the main Zanpakutou filler was very careful not to reveal any new abilities that haven`t been shown in anime format yet. I am guessing but maybe it could fit right before the start of the Karakura town battle.
 
Four episodes, four weeks to go - and we have April 13!

With the return to "canon" Bleach we will also get a new start up and a new ending piece. I expected a new start up: It would look odd to still have the Zanpakutou one in use. But that we also get a new ending piece is a surprise. It is definitely a good one because I don`t like the current one at all. The music is nice but the animation with the ghostly figures obscured by this snowstorm made of pink flower petals is just terrible.

This week`s episode was a Orihime story. I liked it but the Kazeshini story with the baby was so cheesy that it made me cringe more than once. The last four stories will hopefully be good but I admit it, I am getting impatient too. :)
 
Unfortunately the US broadcast isn't so lucky. Viewers following it here via television are stalled at the transition point between the Hueco Mundo stuff and the Princess arc. It was supposed to start back up in April but now it's been delisted from the schedule and delayed. :(

Doesn't effect me too much, though, I do enjoy the dub a bit more because the subtitles don't get in the way of the action.
 
I am still first of all looking forward to the Ichigo vs. Ulquiorra fight but the winter battle chapter afterwards is getting more and more intriguing. Seeing especially the later parts of this part animated will be very powerful, too. I have to rewatch quite a few old episodes now because some events have gained a much stronger meaning than before.

This is becoming much more than "my bankai is bigger than yours" :)
 
^Which episodes are you intending to rewatch? I'm not up to date on the "winter battle" chapter, so if you could catch me up to speed, I'd appreciate it.

What I mainly want to watch again is the part about Orihime`s abduction and her encounter with Aizen.

The latest Shonen Jump weekly had a fun colour cover for the new chapter: Byakuya drinking coffee and holding a big sealed envelope under his arm with the announcement that this is the last battle of the Arrancar arc. As it is not difficult to guess, it is about Aizen vs. Ichigo and it is far from over, it seems. One revelation shows very well how much thought Tite Kubo put into his series. It seems next week another big one will come.

I have read so far unconfirmed titles for the new Anime season and it seems that the first episode is a “last time on” recap. It should help you to get up to date with everything. The next one seems to be a filler but a filler based on the manga. I really love these because they expand on what I have read before and especially now I have quite a wish list of things I want to see but couldn`t read in the manga.

I have very high hopes for the coming “canon” season. It should be great. :)



Two weeks to go...
 
On Tuesday after Easter the last filler episode will be out. The preview looks good and I am curious how this story will end. I will miss these Zanpakutou characters but on the other hand, I am glad this is over very soon!

Then we get the "recap" episode with the new start and end pieces. I am looking forward to this and then the roller coaster really starts moving :).
 
Just letting you know another Bleach Fan's here.

I want to know why they just didn't call it Soul Reaper...that'd be so much better.

I got into the series when a friend showed me some Yoruichi stuff...that got me HOOKED.

I think they're showing the Arrancar Arc right now on Adult Swim.

I doubt we'll get the current Filler Arc with the Sword Spirits anytime soon....I already like Haineko and Tobiume.
 
I'm wondering if the delays with the English broadcast are because of recasting Ichigo. I know I remember reading that his voice actor, Johny Yong Bosch, was thinking about quitting voice work.

I am also very excited about the appearance of “you-know-who” wearing “you-know-what”! It also had the nice side effect that the Bleach fun came back! :)

What is coming now in the anime is definitely the darkest Bleach I have seen so far but at the same time, it is my favourite story and I am not surprised that it is so popular.

By the way, next week Shonen Jump brings chapter 400. I am sure it will be special.

My husband who doesn`t read the mangas and who doesn`t like spoilers asked me the same question once.

The Ichigo vs. Ulquiorra fight is not a Soul Reaper story. It focuses on Ichigo and Ulquiorra but also on Orihime and Ishida. Without spoiling anything this is not just about an exciting fight, what happens here will affect the relationship between these characters a lot! Especially what happens to Ichigo and Ishida will affect their relationship way into the future, I am sure of that!
 
So....how much do you want to bet that we'll get another one of those 10 minute recap sequences that will take up half the episode just to fill us in on unnecessary stuff we already remember? :p
 
That is the trouble with the return to "canon". Especially during the instalment before the Zanpakutou filler it got ridiculous! I have a fast forward button and I use it now when I watch these episodes again but what a waste of time!

The first brief descriptions are available now and it becomes more and more obvious that the coming return to "canon" is not just a copy of the manga - there seems to be a lot of new stuff mixed in! I am very happy with that!
