Bleach - Anime Disscussion (Spoilers)

Bleach 246

Even if Muramasa is telling the truth and the three Zapakutou spirits Sougyo no Kotowari (Ukiktake), Minazuki (Unohana) and Katen Kyoukotou (Shunsui) together have the same power as Yamamoto`s Zanpakutou spirit Ryuujin Jakka I am sill wondering if placing Yamamoto in this pyramid forcefield is a trap. Yamamoto is a prisoner but also seems to be bait to lure in more Shinigami into this complex cave system. That Yamamoto is a tough nut to crack doesn`t surprise me. But I am surprised that Muramasa did not only show Byakuya the prisoner but admitted freely that Yamamoto causes him trouble.

Kenpachi and Yachiru promptly got lost again. This is an old joke by now but still funny. Yoruichi, Ichigo, Ukitake and Shunsui are an interesting team. Yoruichi is an excellent fighter and a natural leader. I found it amusing that Ichigo immediately followed her lead too instead of trying to take command as he usually does.

Ukitake and his two Zanpakutou twin children, it was fun to watch for a while until the game wasn`t fun any more. That Ukitake feels unable to fight children is understandable but I would have thought that a Shinigami at his age would be able to move past that when necessary.

Kazeshini`s last fight with Ichigo was creepy and he showed again how dangerous he is before he was defeated for good this time, at least for now. Now that Ichigo has reached Yamamoto`s prison I am curious what will happen next week.

I also think, that something just isn't right, too. It's probabally some kind of trap.

Tobiume and Hineko got their butts kicked again in this episode, this time by Yoriuchi, tough luck for the ladies. Also naturally Kenny and Yachiru promptly get lost again in the caves. :guffaw:

It got so quiet here recently. Now that I am waiting for the next episode which should be really interesting I thought I pop in and have a look around here anyway.

A lot has happened and you can see that the story is getting closer to the end. I learned that the Zanpakutou main story will have 26 episode followed by 10 other Zanpakutou related stories. Afterwards Bleach will return to the Ichigo vs. Ulquiorra fight, meaning following the Mangas.

Poor Ichigo. He really has to learn to use his brain more as Urahara told him in early Bount. Not only was he used by Muramasa. I think now he is being used by Yamamoto, too.

Ishida`s battle against Senbonzakura should be impressive but I am also hoping that because he is the most intelligent of the six friends, he will figure out if something sinister is going on here and stop it before it is too late.

Yeah, last week was a holiday here (Thanksgiving), one based primarily on food and I work in a grocery store, so I was extremely busy and didn't have time for it until after it ended.

I've been silent, because I haven't been able to watch any Bleach since the last time I posted.

Between Work, Holidays, & Spending what little free time I did have with friends, Hasn't really been top priority. Same for Naruto as well.

Also, if I'm being honest, I kind of lost interest in the arc, when Byakuya "switched sides".

I think the Zanpakutou story got much more interesting recently. I also enjoyed the return of Ishida, Chad and Orihime. I missed them. On the other hand, the artwork certainly started to suffer.

The next episodes seem to deal with the backstory of Muramasa and his wielder, Kouga. Episode 252 has the title “Byakuya, the truth behind his betrayal”. I am very curious.

Over at the Bleach Asylum where I am mainly active nowadays I had the chance to find links with excerpts from the new Bleach Game: Soul Carnival 2. This is a game about the Ulquiorra/Ichigo fight that will continue in Anime after the Zanpakutou filler. I absolutely love that story and it is easily my favourite Bleach chapter. I am not surprised that it has already been turned into a game and the animations shown in the U-tube links are amazing!

Just be warned: These excerpts and it seems also the game is showing some big spoilers about what is to come! But on the other hand, it concentrates on the fight scenes and the complex, touching character story behind this is for the most part unspoiled.

I thought, I am not good with computers but why not try it? I read the instructions and just gave it a go. I hope it works.

If I did this right, this is the link to YouTube I was talking about. It is not something that got leaked as some people assumed in Bleach Asylum, this is advertising for the new Bleach game Soul Carnival 2.

As it has been explained to me to the Japanese it is not a big deal to publish such a teaser that is showing Bleach material that has not been broadcast as anime. Most people read the Shonen Jump weekly first.

If you are curious and not too spoiler sensitive, I think this teaser is worth watching it.

Crowning moment of pure win!

^^Nice!

Thanks Baerbel Haddrell

I was definitely planning to start back with the continuation of the Mainline Story Arc, but now I'm kind of giddy about it.

I'm still not sure the fillers are going to draw me back in though.
I was fine with the story arc up until the (for lack of a better term) "Kon-Silliness" took over the arc. I know his character is a fav of Tito Kubo's but... I prefer when Bleach takes itself seriously (especially in the battles) and not when they're doing "sweatdrops and loud squeaky voices"

I am glad I could do a bit of advertising myself. :)

I don`t know how often I have watched this clip already and I am still excited. You won`t find any “Kon-Silliness” here. The “dome drama” (as one of my friends called it) is Bleach at its darkest. It is also a long story that should provide enough episodes for one season. And I am still waiting for the “dome drama” part 2. The story is far from over, I am sure of it. Kubo just has to return to that topic. There are some beginnings but so far Kubo is showing that he can be a real tease… :D

After the Zanpakutou story there won`t be much fun and therefore I see some of the silliness in this filler with mixed feelings. At the beginning I didn`t mind but by now it is getting a bit too much sometimes. On the other hand, I can imagine that I will miss the Bleach humour later in the main story.

What I regret more is that the artwork is really starting to suffer in places. I still like the Zanpakutou story a lot. That Ishida and Orihime are back certainly helps although this Ishida doesn`t look very much like what I am used to in the manga.

My information is that the filler ends in April 6. The Zanpakutou main story has 25 (or 26?) episodes followed by 10 more Zanpakutou stories.

I am trying to keep this thread alive until the fillers end. :) The start of the next “canon” part will be at April 6 which means the continuation of the Ichigo vs. Ulquiorra fight.

In Japan they have just shown the very first teaser for the next movie. Both, the PSP Game I mentioned and the fourth movie are indeed based on the Ichigo vs. Ulqiorra fight.

I hope the link works.

Well, I decided to dive into the English subs of Bleach since there would be no new dub till July or so. Got caught up with all the episodes last weekend (as well as this thread!). The Zanpakuto filler, as well as the Amagai filler story, are light years ahead of the Bount arc. I'm looking forward to the next ep to see what the deal with Byakuya is. I think I know where they're going with it after seeing the Kouga flashback, and if so, the whole "betrayal" would make a little more sense. I also dig how they've kept to silliness to a minimum recently. You get some here and there, but it fits perfectly since the rest of the story if fairly grim. hmmm... since there is no ep this week, maybe I'll get started on D.gray-man

Thank you, zakkrusz, for the link to the Bleach AMV! I enjoyed watching this. The fan who put this piece together did a great job.

@ flavaflav

I think the Zanpakutou filler is definitely the best long filler story so far. I wasn`t that happy with some of the recent artwork (especially with Ishida`s looks) but the flashbacks look impressive again. I am also glad that what Technobuilder described so well as Kon-silliness has been nearly dropped.

There are only four episodes to go and the story will be over. I think both, the Bount and the Amagai filler has disappointing endings and I am hoping very much that it will be different this time. It looks that way but we will see…

I wonder what the other 10 filler episodes will be about. They are supposedly also Zanpakutou stories but I am not sure about that. My guess is these will be a collection of lighter, fun stories which is probably not a bad idea at all. If you think a lot of the Zanpakutou story is fairly grim the Ulquiorra vs. Ichigo fight (and what is connected with it) will be pitch black. I think Bleach is usually at its best when it is at its darkest and this is IMO the best example.

D.Gray-Man is my second favourite anime/manga after Bleach. The idea behind it has some parallels with Bleach but the series is in general darker. I allow my 7-year-old to watch Bleach under supervision but not D.Gray-Man.

I'm really hoping the company that licensed D.Gray-Man here will release the whole series. Right now I think they only have the first 50 episodes. I'm buying the sets so hopefully enough people here do the same so they'll pick up the rest.

I have bought the D.Gray-Man sets as well. As I have just been informed, Amazon US has sent off season 2 part 2. I am looking forward to it!

By the way, do you know if there are any plans to bring out Eden of the East?

Back to the topic… Today the new episode came out but I have to wait until tomorrow for the subbed version. But, wow – that was amazing! Great animation of an incredible Byakuya fight!

From recent spoiler information I am getting a better idea what these coming 10 other filler episodes will be about. If these rumours are true it is indeed a side story connected with the main Zanpakutou story and could be very interesting.

The Byakuya/Kouga fight was indeed quite impressive. Definitely Bleach at it's best there.

Funimation (same company that puts out DGM actually) has licensed it. I'd expect we should see a set here sometime around the end of the year but they haven't set a date for it yet. They don't have the films though, unfortunately. I suspect they're waiting to see how the series sells before getting the films.

That series is definitely going into my collection for one. This website keeps a list of of all upcoming anime related DVD and Blu-Ray releases from US companies which could be useful.

Nice! :) Yes, Eden of the East certainly goes into my collection as well. It makes sense that Funimation wants to wait with the films. If the series sells well and the movies are successful, I think there shouldn`t be a problem and they will publish them too.

Back to Bleach: It seems the “side story” of the Zanpakutou filler is more closely related than I was made to believe. These are the first two titles of the 10 episodes in question:

256 Byakuya`s anger, collapse of the Kuchiki family

257 A new enemy, the true nature of the beast swords

Both titles sound very promising to me.

By the way: At Feb. 2 we will get a new ending piece. It will probably refer to the coming Ichigo/Ulquiorra fight.

I'm always down for a Byakuya fight, so this was a pretty cool ep. Definitely curious to see where they take this the next few shows.

Got a chance to check out the subbed version of the Ichigo vs Ulquiorra teaser. Daaaaaaaaaaamn! Can't wait! The first 5 minutes or so of the fight is also up on youtube, but nothing quite as spoilerish as the teaser.

Also watched the first couple eps of D.gray-man. Good stuff. I'll definitely check out the rest. Certainly not a show for kids. Just what i was looking for.
