Black Vulcan

Why are there White Vulcans? "Well Spock was greenish!". Well, his blood was green and pigmented his skin that tone. He was clearly lightly skinned. But for the same reason, environmental and regional conditional differences in the long term of evolution within the same species (whether Human or Vulcan) produces regional variations in things like skin color. There's no reason for there to not be darker skinned Vulcans, assuming different environments on Vulcan in the evolutionary history of the Vulcan people. And certainly we know that prior to the atomic wars, Vulcan was was not all one Martian desert. Humans are the example, and there are multiple variations of humans. Vulcans are the closest species in Star Trek to humans.

Yeah... it never dawned on you turkeys that his mother was a white female. And I said darker skinned Vulcans should be darker green, not that they shouldn't exist. Do a little reading before you reply, huh?

Have you ever looked at a color wheel?

Mmmmm. Maybe you should.

Mmmm. Where does the red line go at approximately 5 o'clock on the wheel?

Mmmm. Looks like brown.

Mmmm.

:vulcan:

Skin color is based on melanin, not blood. Also, there are people in this world whose skin is far darker than that. There are many of our fellow humans who are legitimately black skinned. Because it is not about blood. It is about melanin. For lighter skin, blood color may have more of an impact to skin tone. And skin color is all simply evolutionary for what is needed for the environment. Lighter skin is a matter of humans having migrated to climates with less intense sun exposure, therefore necessitating higher production of Vitamin D. It would make sense for the Vulcans to have had a similar experience.

You could be pink or purple for all it matters. Nonetheless, you are a rather unpleasant person.

You haven't seen Voyager?

This is Tuvok.

Even his tiny penny sized nipples are black.

Look at his tiny penny sized black nipples and Marvel.

Your lefty brain is colour blind, can't you see he is dark green????

By your logic, I repeat, darker skinned humans should be dark red, since lighter skinned humans are a pale pink or pale cream.....
Sarek, Spock , T'Pau, T'Pol, Suvol, V'Las etc had similar skin tones, but only Spock had a human pink mother. The RL reason? The actors were white. The in universe reason? The Vulcans were anemic...

It's a little odd that Vulcan was named after a Roman God, and Romulus was named after the were wolf founder of Rome, yet neither planet had overt connections to Earth at that point.

Probably the fault of Apollo and his people.

I tend to just assume "Vulcan," "Romulus," and "Remus" are just English names given to native names that are different.

I always assumed that Vulcan was the name used by the people from Earth because maybe they couldn't pronounce the native name of the planet. But it's an appropriate name. Didn't the Vulcan's call the desert, which pretty much covered their whole planet a word which translates in English to "The Forge"? And Vulcan is the Roman god of the forge.
