Black Swan

I started a "Black Swan"discussion thread a few days ago...guess the search function doesn't work :) Some of the acting reminded you of "Showgirls" (you actually watched that movie lol). It's not just the BBC that is enamored with Natalie Portman's performance in the film but critics in general that are raving about the movie and her acting in the film. Mila Kunis as well. There's been early Oscar buzz surrounding this movie. I can't wait to see the film, it's been my most anticipated film of the winter.

You're right. The search function doesn't work, since I did one before posting. I usually put in a default apology for cross-posting but as luck would have it, this it the one time I leave it out. I'm with you totally on finding someone that actually watched Showgirls!

I'm sorry, maybe I'm too stupid for movies like that but Portman or not, this looks fucking horrible; I can't imagine ever watching that unless you strap me into a Clockwork Orange chair.

Well, there are certainly a few more "points of interest" in it than Battlefield: Earth, which I've also had the misfortune to watch. The "poi" didn't save it though.

I still don't know how one can compare "Showgirls" to "Black Swan". I've not seen "Showgirls" but know what the film is about and saw the trailers when it came out and remember shuddering and I was 13 or so at the time. Everyone was describing it as the Jesse from "Saved by the Bell" gets naked movie!! Similar I supposed to when the announcement of "Black Swan" that Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis were gonna have a full blown make out scene. Unlike "Showgirls" though I'd hardly compare Elizabeth Berkely to Natalie Portman in terms of acting ability. "Black Swan" is a much deeper movie and explores dark motifs and themes.
