New 3D bioprinter to reproduce human organs, change the face of healthcare: The inside story

Researchers are only steps away from bioprinting tissues and organs to solve a myriad of injuries and illnesses. TechRepublic has the inside story of the new product accelerating the process.

Would it be possible to combine stem cells with Bioprinting to treat diseases such as bone marrow cancer where the cancer cells would be removed and replaced with the new cells?

It might be difficult to reproduce eyes though as my eye doctor said that the eyes basically grow outward from inside of the brain thus making them hard coded to the brain itself.

I also wonder if Bioprinting can recreate the memories of a person into another brain?

Sounds a lot like that med-pod that completely repaired our alien heroine in The Fifth Element.

At first, the technology would probably be more limited to organs and body parts that don't need to be replicated down to a very fine detail to work (then again, every organ and body part might need to be replicated to every fine detail to work as well as the original anyways).

Aren't memories basically electrical or chemical signals encoded in our neurons or synapses? Those chemicals, signals, or codes would need to be replicated along with the parts of the brain itself necessary to have the memories encoded.

Might it be possible? With enough refinement and advancement in the technology, I suppose that anything might be possible. Just don't expect to live to see the day it happens.

I'm just pleased to see that this technology is actually being given the name I coined for it in my science fiction years ago. I don't usually have a good track record for guessing what future technologies will be called, but I was right on the nose with this one.
