Hard task convincing people ubiquitous Google needs replacing. It not only gives you what you need, but often what you didn't know you wanted, as well.
Once a proper noun has been "verbed" the way Google has, it's too late. You might as well try and get people to stop saying Kleenex and Q-Tips.
I search for basically the same things over and over for my old time radio show hobby. Bing does a better job of keeping on track than Goggle. But Goggle is better for random buy it now links.
Never heard of Bing, but I can't say I have ever Googled something and thought "dammit only 18 million hits. There's got to be a better search engine". I'll cruise by Bing and play with it for awhile, but I can't see ever not using Google.
I use both. When Google started continuously giving me the 404 Sorry errors, I switched to Bing, and for a couple of weeks everything went swimmingly. I can now use Google again as it was fixed, but I still really like Bing. Everything I searched for was found via Bing, so even if they're not as huge as Google, they're still quite capable.
The Dutch government is planning to sue them over the fact that in Bing Maps the Royal palaces and militairy instalations aren't blurred in photo mode...
Apparently there is a law that says they have to be blurred...
