Billy Bob Thornton cast as Freddy Kreuger?

Aragorn

Fleet Admiral
Admiral
Saw it being reported on IMDB, which naturally means nothing. If you do a Google search you can find a lot of stories about it, which are all pretty much the same unsubstantiated reports. They claim that Robert Englund revealed the casting of Thornton. Of course, if that's true, maybe Englund was just jerking the reporter's chain and just like that -- internet wildfire rumor!

A remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street is being worked on. BloodyDisgusting reported it a while ago, but I don't think that they've cast Kreuger yet.

Isn't this supposed to be an origin story? About the "real" Fred Krueger and his crimes, not about the nightmare Freddy? I thought I read that somewhere..

That sounds interesting, actually. A straight-up crime drama, with no 'fantasy' horror elements? (Krueger's actual crimes were horrible enough.)

I just hope they don't do the story of his *conception*, though.

If this is true, it's really inspired casting.

If Englund isn't going to do it - and he really is too old, sorry - it's pointless for them to go for a clone. Better to find someone with star quality who brings their own version of madness to it.

I'm warning you now to try to get rid of Norton as fast as you can. it took my sister and I months to get rid of that trash and it's still partly on the computer.

Hey, in music "How Do I Live Without You" had versions by Tricia Yearwood and LeAnn Rimes come out at the exact same time.

Maybe it's only a matter of time before moviegoers can decide if they want to see "John Grisham's The Partner," starring Tom Cruise, Jennifer Connelly and directed by Ridley Scott; or "John Grisham's The Partner," starring Ashton Kutcher, Heidi Montag and directed by Brett Ratner.
