Certainly not. It just makes you look foolish.
I'm kinda feeling this way too.MattJC said:
Hey I don't need to take a leak on electric fence to know that I wouldn't like it very much.
Enough information has been leaked; information that doesn't sound very appealing to me. I don't need to go see it to find out I wouldn't like it.
I'm treating this as if it didn't have Star Trek in the title.
I'm also treating this like I treat any other remake.
I guess that were we differ, unfortunately.Angel4576 said:
^^ Valid concerns.
My primary cause for optimism comes from the fact that Berman/Braga won't be anywhere near it. Nemesis was a mess, Enterprise wasn't much better, and their involvement with Trek was way beyond its shelf-life.
Whether it's too early for Trek to come back, I'm not too sure. A different take on things may be just what's needed to prove that there's still life in the franchise. Alternatively, if it bombs, we can probably write off seeing any new Star Trek for another decade. Personally, I'm hoping for the former. Prove that there's still an audience, then start thinking about where to take the franchise next on the smaller screen. At the end of this season, we're going to be pretty devoid of any decent space-based science fiction. Trek could be ideally placed to make a return.
Our thoughts are one.Angel4576 said:
After seeing so many shows cancelled, I must admit, my preferences have shifted heavily in recent years. I watch far more drama these days than I ever used to.
Having said that though, I'd still like a few decent alternatives to break the monotony![]()
Yes, I Love New York on VH-1 is a guilty pleasure of mine.Angel4576 said:
^^ It's all the networks' fault. Those bastards are assimilating us FFS!![]()
Soon we'll all be watching reality rubbish! That's their grand masterplan. Huge ratings at a low cost, they'll be loving it!
Yeah, but at least we still have plenty of non-space based sci-fi shows, like Doctor Who, Stargate: Atlantis, Heroes, Lost ect. Unless you don't like those shows, because then there really isn't much other sci-fi.Angel4576 said:

Denouncing something before you've even seen it is somewhat childish IMO.
What space based sci-fi shows would you call outstanding?Angel4576 said:
^^ I'd class Atlantis as space-based to be honest, and whilst it's alright, it's not brilliant.
Got nothing against Heroes and Lost, enjoy them both, but from memory I think we've had outstanding space-based shows for nigh on the last couple of decades.

Have we even had any non-trek space based sci-fi other than the SGs, BSG, Andromeda and Farscape during the in the past 10 years?Angel4576 said:
