Big Theory on River Song **SOME SPOILERS**

I can't believe the North American's don't do what the rest of the planet has been doing for their shows for the last ten years or so. I love it when the shoe is on the other foot. I'm in Australia and it doesn't air here til next week either, but I'd seen it within hours of airing. In this day and age, there is no need to wait just because of outdated rules of distribution. The sooner media companies wise up and allow everyone to have it at the same time (even for a price), the better.

Absolutely! It amazes me how long it take it takes the television industry to catch up. It's like they still think the Internet is one of those fads that will pass and they can just keep doing business as normal. If TPTB were smart, they would wake up and come to the conclusion that television distribution is global and that viewers will always find a way to access content, legal or not.

Honestly, I would prefer to watching legally because it's less of hassle but there are times when alternate means are considered. I agree with the sentiment of "why should I have to wait?" When it's available somewhere else, there is no reason I shouldn't have it. So again, TPTB need to seriously wake up to the fact that the Internet isn't going anywhere.

Some people just believe they should Do The Right Thing, apparently.

In an effort to make up, I do watch the actual broadcast as well.

I think most people will be prepared to wait upto a week for it to air on TV local in this day and age.

I will watch it when it is broadcast on BBC-America. But I wasn't about to wait either.

BBC-America made a mistake in postponing it a week because of Memorial Day (2 days later). With DVRs and such, it would not have lost any ratings due to the holiday weekend. It just drove people to "alternate methods" of delivery. Big mistake BBC-Am

That goes back to my earlier point that networks like The BBC don't really seem to take "alternate methods" of viewing into account. I think when the day comes that they realize there are other methods of obtaining content they will be better off. But they insist on working off a pre-Internet DVR model which makes little sense to me.
